ascender 352
We've been slaughtered in the press in recent years for not playing enough Scots, now that we are playing a lot, there's no mention of it. Mike.
johnnyk 158
Is nacho not Scottish Agree with Mike, I wonder if the media will say anything or just keep saying Keane is world class and will win them the league who cares if they are damaging Scottish football..........
Gazza_8 233
I don't see what the big deal is. As manager you look to bring in the best players available to you and Mowbray THINKS he gets value for money outside of Scotland. Tie will tell whether it proves to be a successful move or not. A club manager has no relations with the national side so why should he look to bring in Scots? It worked for us for 2 seasons under Advocaat. I also don't get why the media need to get involved. Their job is to report on football matches, press conferences, transfer news, contract negotiations etc etc. Or am I missing the point here?
johnnyk 158
I think the point is when we had a team full of foreigners we got slagged rotten by everyone outside us and blamed for the demise of the national team. Now we have a squad mainly of Scots and they hardly have any will this be mentioned? I doubt it. I presonally don't care but I doubt they will get a hard time like we did from the media!
Frankie 8,890
It's not overly important in some ways but in terms of rules etc, it may well affect Celtic going forward unless they bring in a few more Scots.
Frankie 8,890
I think a more important point when looking at the squads is experience. Almost all our current squad were involved in winning the title last season as well as getting to the UEFA Cup final. Celtic don't have the same mental advantage.
calscot 0
Are we the "quintessential Scottish club"?
