I don't know why people are getting so defensive about it. He doesn't do it, it's never been his style. That's just a fact. He'd much prefer to go for people he knows very well in Scotland, or people that are established interanationals. Not sure I'd be that fussed if the mopes do get him tbh, but then again, it's not likely that we could find a better standard of striker for under a million quid and there's always the chance that he could turn out to be a real talent. Really hard to say, but I've just got a feeling about this one being agent trickery/games. That sounds like a skint club to me. When players are going for �£80M, a fortieth of that is peanuts. It's equivalent to about 200k in the NIAR years. Edu, i'd agree was fairly unknown, but we paid in excess of �£2m so hardly a great return. Beasley was an established international, and has played around 4 good games in the last 18 months. Darcheville and Cousin could be as disppointing as they were fantastic and never fulfilled their potential at the club, although I accept there's an argument for them. Bougherra is one that is tending towards it, but had already played in the Premiership and is an established internationalist, so not really unknown. My point was that a player doesn't need to be unknown to be a success or better buy than expected - a rabbit out of a hat. Unknown is also a subjective term. In any case Walter spotted probably the biggest rabbit from a hat to play in Scottish football for decades. One Rino Gatusso. Laudrup, as a player permanently sitting on a bench in Italy, was hardly a household name even if his brother was, maybe he was an international but so is this Emir guy. I just don't see the need to make up erroneous and less than convincing slurs for our manager when really he should be judged on his ability to build a squad that wins stuff. I'd rather have a manager who goes out an buys a load of established internationals who win the treble than gamble on 11 unknowns of which two are a success. Unknown players signed by Rangers have always been met with derision by the fans. We're much more comfortable with big names, so why pick on a successful manager for not doing an unpopular thing - especially when he obviously has.
