I've backed him endlessly, but there comes a time where even I cannot flog a dead horse.

 

He showed plenty of glimpses last year, but this year, by a combination of factors, he looks just terrible. He shows a little sign here, a little sign there, but even given this run in his favourite position he looks off the pace, sluggish, and his first touch is abysmal.

 

There is a great player in there, but I don't think we'll see that player in our colours.

He had 3 fouls given against him as far as I can remember. Hardly trying to get sent off. Penalised very unfairly by the ref, who let far worse stuff go, eg elbow on Weir.

 

And he set up the first goal well.

He did set up the first goal, but I disagree that it was mere fouls - he seemed hell bent on barging opposition players.

 

I've not completely given up hope on Lafferty, but it's pretty forlorn now.

TBH, he's got all the time in the world because we won't get offers for him. He's still got a chance, but it's not looking great for the lad unless he starts producing goals.

Everytime the ball was in the air and he was challenging for it you knew he'd commit a foul. He should've been booked about 2 or 3 FKs before he eventually was.

 

Maybe he was trying to hard last night or maybe he was hell bent on causing some damage. Either way, he should be sold in the summer as his performances have been dire.

Funny how Steven Naismith won more balls in the air in the time he was on than lafferty did. Just proves to me what i have always said, good timing is better than a few extra inches.
