Hernia ops can take 8-10 weeks to recover from, but athletes often recover in about 4-6 weeks to a point where they can resume their normal training activities. Lets hope it is just an irritation to the groin and be better in a few days. I was in hospital for 3 weeks with traction on both legs. I was told by the doctors that I couldn't play football for 6 months.
