Danny 0
Not bad for an alleged not very good against the big boys striker... He's done a lot to pour cold water on that one this season. And the reason is he's worked harder and played at a higher tempo, and it's paid off. He's been scoring against everyone.
ian1964 10,761
Villa target Gers hitman Aston Villa have joined the list of clubs interested in Rangers' Kris Boyd and are thought to be ready to offer £1.5m for the striker. Villa boss Martin O'Neill is thought to be keen to add the 26-year-old hitman to his ranks and may be able to get Boyd at a knock down price as his current deal at Ibrox ends in the summer. Boyd is in blistering form this season having scored 19 goals so far this campaign, with a tally of 97 so far in his four years with Rangers. The striker came close to making the switch from the SPL to the Premier League last season when Birmingham saw a £3.8million bid accepted by Rangers in January, only for Boyd's wage demands to scupper any potential move. It is believed Championship outfit Newcastle United are also keen on Boyd but the chance to play Premier League football and the possibility of European football next season with Villa may persuade Boyd to opt for O'Neill's side.

maineflyer 0
Problem is his contract runs out in May so any offer right now would be minimal... I'm not so much concerned at the offer as I am about what we will be prepared to accept. Even if the club is fully intent on selling him in the summer, they should still be making damned sure he signs a new contract right now. If they intend to sell then I'd have thought the contract terms shouldn't be a particular concern. If they don't intend to sell then they will presumably have to find agreeable terms in any case. But to sell under value at this time would be madness from every angle.
Frankie 8,674
I'd have thought it makes perfect business sense to re-sign Boyd for the increased wage he wants. The lad is still young, in the best form of his life and doesn't suffer from many injuries (touch wood) so would retain a high transfer value if the club did require to sell players in the summer or beyond. Selling him now for £1.5million isn't the kind of sum that will suddenly scare the wolves away. And it certainly won't improve our chances of retaining the league title.
H1ndy 0
1.5m is gonna even touch the debt we have. so why entertain that rangers should put his value as high as possible say 6-8m so no -one touches him in this window. then we can hopefully agree a contract and if we want to sell him, we can in the summer for a lot more than 1.5m or the cynic in me thinks boyds form has something to do with having 6months on his contract left. remember loverpants playing extremly well knowing his contract was up and sum extents with beasley aswell world cup comming up and contract expiring making him play well. one thing we need this boyd situation sorted ASAP
Danny 0
There is no way Boyd's worth anything near 8M. The 5 players we've sold in the past decade or so of that sum are GVB, Barry Ferguson, Cuellar, Boumsong, and Hutton - and Boyd just isn't as good as any of them. He is, if we're lucky, a 4M striker at tops. If we get offered anything in that region we'll accept it. And we did in January.
