Kinniburgh heads home

Recommended Posts

On-loan defender Stevie Kinniburgh has returned to Glasgow Rangers after injuring his knee during last weekend's FA Cup clash against Barrow.

A scan revealed that damage to his medial ligaments is likely to keep him sidelined for 6-8 weeks, during which time his loan period with the Yellows was due to expire. Manager Chris Wilder says:

"It's a great shame for the lad. He's done well for us and there's no doubt that he is a very, very good player. Given the nature of the injury we didn't see much point in keeping the lad here over Christmas so he's returning to Glasgow today, but we'll continue to monitor his situation and look to talk to Rangers at a later date."

Meanwhile Kinniburgh's fellow Rangers loanee Ross Perry will continue his spell with the U's.

"Ross has come in and done very well lately and he carries on as normal," says Wilder. "He's settled in well and people have seen a bit more of him over the past few games, so hopefully he'll continue to progress and show people what he can do.

I don''t know if this has been posted before but i can't see it in the first few pages.

Unfortunate for the lad he seemed to be doing so well.
