Cotter 0
Get shot of him ASAP. He is clearly at it. Our best player is a scumbag. End of.
UCF2008 0
Have to disagree on this one. It's amazing sometimes how quick they go from hero to zero My initial thoughts on Bougherra's 'injury' were that we was being discreetly disciplined for coming back late the last time he was on international duty. He is after all one of our more valuable assets and his value would more than likely have dropped if he was publicly executed a la Boozegate. When he missed the CL game in midweek it was touch and go apparently, but as much as Danny Wilson has made a good impression since coming into the side I can't see Walter playing him ahead of Bougherra in that one if he was fit to play. It's possible that he was fit for the game at the weekend and with it being one game before the international break not to mention an opportunity to give Wilson a full Ibrox debut Walter chose to stick with the same defensive line-up. I think we're all being too quick to judge and Bougherra will still have a big part to play this season.

I'm sure he will have a big part to play, but that doesn't mean we can't resent him when he makes it clear how low Rangers are in his priorities. It wouldn't have been so bad if there hadn't been the previous issue with him returning late from teh last international and failing to notify the management.
Zappa 0
To my mind he should be on his last warning now. I'm happy to forgive him for what he's done, especially when we don't know the full story, but as far as I'm concerned if he comes back later than planned from international duty or time off again without phoning immediately to explain the problem, then I'd get him punted to the highest bidder asap. I don't believe the passport story at all. Next time it'll be the tragic death of the family goat or something.
DJBlue72 0
No surprise there then. If he comes back in time, and if his injury doesn't flair up again either playing for Algeria or in flight, no doubt WS will put him in ahead of Wilson, maybe we should just play the three of them @ the back ???? I would like to see us go 3 at the back in a more attacking formation. If Bougherra is working his ticket out of Ibrox then let him go in January , we have been doing well enough without him , excluding Unirea and Seville. reckon we could get anything up to £6.5M for him.

We could play three at the back, especially @ Ibrox in the SPL
craig 5,199
I have always preferred the notion of 3 at the back especially at home because many opponents play with one up top which means less of a need for 4 defenders. However, I think you still need pace for that and that would spell the end of Weir IMO. A back 3 of Bougherra, Wilson and Papac would suit me. The downside then though is that our wide midfielders are still performing very poorly. Could a change in formation help them ? maybe/
Gribz 850
Ive said for 4 or 5 years we should be playing 3-5-2. This brings an extra midfielder / winger in and keeps 2 upfront. WS played this in the 90s but had players well out of position like Craig Moore wearing the No.7 shirt in midfield hence why it didnt work. This system would benefit Davis as IMO his best role is playing inside right with a men wider than him and 2 tucked further in (1 holding - thomson / 1 offensive - Mendes). I would even say Weir could still fit in this system, you dont need all 3 centre halfs to be pacey, you just dont let Weir venture up the park. Plus we have Broadfoot coming back who could also fit into this system, so we have Bougherra, Weir, Wilson, Papac and Broadfoot all capable. With everyone fit: :kirk: :mb: :sp: :sd::me: :nn: :pm: :kb: Subs: :na::wilson::kt::kl::sn::jf:

Gribz 850
Personally from what i have seen i would prefer Wilson to Broadfoot. Long term thats a probability but Wilson has only played a few games next to mentor Weir so I wouldnt put too much hype on him yet after what happened to fleck last season, but everything so far from Wilson has been promising. I never thought id say we would miss Broadfoot, but we have. He is a limited player (to quote Burley - yet what player isnt?) but he always got stuck in and had some fine games at RB and had Mcgeady in his back pocket in a few games. I think there is a bit more to come from Broadfoot but only if he can start to take Throw-In's properly!
