Boydy - with added moustache pic

Honestly don't think we do any set-piece training - offensively or defensively.

Our attacking free-kicks and corners are dreadful with most hardly getting past the first man or over-hit. Our throw-ins are embarrassing and we'd be as well just not taking them.

In defence, for some reason, we have every, single player back for every defensive set-piece and that only seems to cause confusion as well as an inability to retain possession if we do clear it.

Really frustrating and I'd love someone to ask Smith about it at the AGM - even if we have more pressing concerns off the field... ;)

we are dreadful as Frankie says but it has been going on for years now.

at corners we rarely get past the front post but never have anyone there just in case. if we put the ball too deep again rarely anyone there, and no one waits at the edge of the box if it's cleared out there either.

free kicks are always the same, from further away no real conviction and we never find a man, just a hit into the box. from shooting range it's straight at the wall or well over the bar/wide.

you would think professional footballers would want to be the best they can and practice until they are but this cannot be happening at murray park and doesn't look like it has for years......

There was a really good tactical analysis of this Frankie on FF and why it made good sense. OF course every tactic has it's strengths and it's flaws. I got frustrated with it too as it means we never pick up the loose ball if we get the first ball out. That said a lot of top managers defend set peices this way.

I'll try and find the original post I read, but assuming I can't will try an rehash the jist (sp) of it from memory.
