Managerial shortlist?

Recommended Posts

Please folks, stop suggesting Craig Levein. I'd rather have ten more years of Walter Smith than that Rangers-hating bastard at Ibrox. Some of you will know how much I want ten more years of Walter Smith.

Agreed. Rangers-hating snake of the first order.

In fact, t's much worse than that. He's almost entirely a media creation. You know, the token studio expert who can string a few words together but is actually no better that anyone they might have hauled out of the pub and slapped some makeup on.

Pat Nevin is probably the best example of the species, a whining wee shite who has seriously been described as the thinking man's pundit. FFS, what kind of moronic bastards does it take to come up with that shite ........... oh that's right, BBC Scotland. Nevin comes from the same stable of poseurs as our old mucker Graham Spiers, who has build an entire reputation on scanning the OED for words of more than nine letters. Scottish sports editors are very easily impressed ...... or culd it be that they simply have an unspoken agenda and need to fit their commentators to suit their needs?

If this seems harsh, I urge anyone to look at the facts of Levein's record. The man has achieved the square root of fark all at any of his clubs. After years in the job, which heights has he taken the great Dundee Utd to? Doesn't actually stack up, does it. And some people would have this fraud at Ibrox as the man to re-build one of the great clubs of the world?

They wouldn't really have him when the chips are down & the managerial candidates are getting interviewed. People just seem to get irate & desperate when the subject of sacking a football manager & finding a worthy replacement comes along. It's like a green light for everyone to talk out of their rear end without thinking about what they're saying. :)

I really don't know how to respond to that. :D

Agreed, out of all the names being put forward by Rangers fans Levein is possibly the worst, the man has done absolutely zero and is a Rangers hater, why would any sane Rangers fan even consider this clown to manage Rangers FC ????

Davis and Levein - NO NO NO!

What the hell are we talking about lowering ourselves to this level?

You could see the point when Jim McLean was winning the league and beating the old firm, but FFS Levein - does anyone remember the last game of last season?

Forget money for a moment, (meaning potential budgets - not manager wages) why cant we go for someone with a higher pedigree in europe? An up and coming manager who knows where to find tomorrows great young players around Europe.

Al tell you something, Mykhaylychenko is not a bad shout, he's won titles at Kiev, worked under Valery Lobanovsky and must know the cheaper Eastern European market inside out.

I've always said Michael Laudrup is my favoured option though, plays attacking football and is respected across the world.

Both of these guys have links to Rangers too.
