Of last night's squad Smith signed all but 3 of the participants for a sum in excess of £20million, that may not be much in EPL terms but in Scottish and even European terms it's a lot of money. So what's wrong?

Firstly, what are Kenny McD and the rest of the coaching staff doing at M Park week to week because we can't retain posession for more than a few passes without passing it back to goal or hoofing it and fighting for the second ball, it's primitive and pathetic.

Secondly, Wattie has a lousy European record. Remember the teams full of quality players who ignominiously exited European competition year after year, exceptions of course being the Leeds campaign and recent EUFA but it's not much to show.

We have to accept that Wattie came back and bonded us again but in football terms he's so yesterday and he should probably have gone when the league was secured last season. The players at his disposal are good enough to achieve more in the CL than they are doing, we know we're not going to win it or reach the late stages, but they are failing miserably because they are not receiving the correct guidance or instruction off pitch. The responsibility rests solely with him, not the board or the Mint, as he's been backed to the hilt but hasn't delivered. It's ironic that probably our best player last night was a Le Guen signing, Sasa Papac. Food for thought there perhaps?

I think above all Ewan is right, it has to come down to the coaching and I think we do have decent football players who are being made to sit back and hit on the break which gives even the worst teams time to organise and come at you, and when that is happening goals will come when your being battered, sort the defence out and let's play attacking football like we used to, and play guys in the right position and as regards of the confidence of young players coming in and maybe taking a battering if they are good enough they will be fine, look at Man u and Arsenal that's Walter's attitude, keep them in the reserves in case they break, no point in saying that because keeping them there you will never no and also another thing Walter does is a couple of games if your not working your out and back in the reserves what about the shit players he has bought they get plenty of time.
