Celtic Come To Ibrox - Where Is The Tight Security ?

Recommended Posts

I had to laugh at the security arrangements going into the ground yesterday which consisted of a policeman asking "Do you have any bottles in your jacket?"

What does he expect me to say to that, if I was tryingh to smuggle in a bottle or flare?

same here, the police were asking along the same lines, have you any bottles, cans etc. would be so easy to smuggle things in as some of the scum did with the flares...........

I never seen anyone getting searched............

Yeah, I was once asked at a border (Romania/Bulgaria) if I had any guns... Maybe it catches out the newbies to crime...

Gav surely if the Celtic fans have got these items into the ground then those responsible should be pulled up for this ! Rangers pay the police and stewards alot of money so things like these don't happen !

Where was the sudden rush of police into the Celtic end when the flares got sent off ? Also how can you arrest one or two fans for singing those songs when it was clear at one point in the first half they sang their venom for 5 mins after they had scored !!

So Mr Officer comes up to me and some others in the East Enclosure, you will have to sit down. Well tell your pals over in that stand for them to do the same, you get ehms and pauses with the reply. Surely, what is it about 8000 Celtic fans(?) is easier to tell them to sit down that 40,000 + Rangers fans.

Also what is happening about the fire incident then Gav ? If you were in between the Main Stand and the Broomloan then you would have seen the fire ?

How many arrests were made at the game then yesterday Gav ?

So how is one support allowed to stand and not the other ?

Why did they get flares into the game when their is police at every gate ?

How can you single out any Celtic fan and lift them for sectarian singing when it was clear the majority if not all were doing it ?

Thing is Gav they won't find out who the culprit was, still waiting on the coin throwers at Fernando years ago and the Rangers physio 2 seasons ago ! Also that same game the physio got coins thrown at him, Novo gets a phone thrown at him. Come on a mobile phone and you can't find out who the guy is ?

Celtic fans dangering our players and our safety and nothing gets done about it !

The media was up in arms when Sutton got a paper cup thrown at him !

Also previously mentioned, why have our fans to take scarfs on their faces and not Celtic fans ?

Rangers pay the police nothing!

Rangers, like all clubs, pay a fee for the policing inside the ground. According to the media, Strathclyde Police are now planning to introduce fees for policing outside the ground as well.

There has certainly been a lot fewer police on duty outside the ground over the past 12 months, particularly on issues like controlling the traffic.

Strathclyde Police are looking into completely pulling out of games. I don't know the reasons for it but it's already been introduced at grounds in the lower leagues. Let's see what happens when/if that ever happens. There would be carnage! Fans and clubs will be begging the police to come back due to the increased level of violence.

A Chief Insp. told me yesterday that SP don't get money from policing football. I took that to be the truth but maybe not.

Rangers paid over half a million quid on policing in 2007/8 season.

Fraser... you were not in the Celtic end so you wouldnt know whether or not the police and/or stewards told them the same things as the Rangers fans (like the scarves incident). You simply dont know.

What you are saying is that Rangers fans were told to sit down because it happened to you. You then looked over and say 8k Tims standing - but I bet that all around you there were still gers fans standing - the point being, just because you see them standing en masse doesnt mean they havent been told not to. You cant possibly know if they were told to sit down because you werent over there.

Chances are that there would be other items sneaked into the ground by BOTH sets of fans, but you are focussing on Celtic because it was the more visual incident.
