mmcd_rfc 0
Taken from SportingLife.com BARDSLEY JOINS RANGERS ON LOAN Rangers have completed the loan signing of Manchester United defender Phil Bardsley. The 21-year-old put pen to paper at Murray Park after undergoing a medical, although the length of the loan deal has not been revealed by the Ibrox club. He follows in the footsteps of Old Trafford team-mate, Lee Martin, who joined Rangers on loan last week. Rangers boss Paul Le Guen had expressed the desire to secure the services of at least one more defender before the transfer window closes at the end of the month. Bardsley can operate at right-back or centre-half which means more options for the Ibrox boss, who is hoping to see the likes of Marvin Andrews, Jose-Karl Pierre-Fanfan, Bob Malcolm and Olivier Bernard move on. Like Martin, he caught the eye of Le Guen during Manchester United's pre-season friendly win over Celtic in Glasgow last month. But he arrives at Rangers with more first-team experience than Martin after deputising for the injured Phil Neville last season, including their Champions League win over Benfica. Bardsley also spent part of last term on loan with Coca-Cola Championship side Burnley and United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is happy for him to gain further top team experience at Rangers.

stewarty 2,060
A calculated choice from PLG. Bardsley's young and has potential - much in the same way Hutton is. Should provide good competition and allow us to gauge Hutton's progress whilst at the same time ensuring that he doesn't stifle Hutton by bringing in a big money signing. Hopefully it will give Hutton a kick up the arse .
Gribz 919
A very shruwd (sp) signing IMO. He is young and has loads of potential and gives us perfect cover for RB but more to the point it will spur Hutton on to make the RB slot his own.
