We came close to the quadruple two seasons ago and won the double last season. Do I care about one free player from an SPL team who never made it at Rangers and ended up in the Championship? Not a jot.

Not that long ago he would be considered by the fans to be "not Rangers class" and in fact there wasn't much excitement when he signed.

Let it go. Are we Rangers fans, or Gow fans?

Good luck to the guy but lets not pretend he'd have been a superstar at Ibrox when he'd have been a squad player at best.

He should have definatly got a chance considering the problems we had in a few roles especially on the left and the creative role behind the striker.

He seemed like an impact player who had a bit of trickery and could have been the difference in quite a few games we didnt win in the season we were going in all 4 comps. The player had a fresh set of legs at the time but we persisted with players who were running on empty and Ferguson who was carrying an injury and being burnt out.

Don't you have any sympathy for the guy? WS signed hm from Falkirk then chose not to play him. Don't you ask yourself what was the point of his signing in the 1st place? Was it just to stop Celtic from signing him? Did he have a fallout with WS? Did WS suddenly realise he wasn't the player he thought he was?

Gow was a huge hit for a poor Falkirk side in the SPL. Playing with a better standard of player week in week out would only have improved him as a footballer.

Maybe if WS chose to play him in the run-in to the quadruple season we may have won another game or two rather than play tired players he chose to play in matches that were no more than 3 days apart.

No one is pretending Gow would've been a superstar, far from it. Why do you think he wouldn't gone on and had a few successful seasons at Rangers?

We maybe "almost" won the quadruple two seasons ago but we ended up not winning what we needed to, the SPL.

In the left midfield position we persisted with Lee McCulloch who was, by all accounts, very very poor in the title run-in.

Could Gow have made the difference ? We will never know but one thing for sure is that he wouldn't have been less effective than McCulloch in the run-in as big Lee was basically a wasted jersey.

As has been said, in that season we had players, LM being one, who were running on empty for half a dozen games and who were looking awful on the pitch. Being as we should have been looking to at least win the league (from the winning position we were in) then dropping McCulloch would have surprised no-one and Gow would have been a natural replacement as it is his position.

A superstar he isnt but, as Gav said, he had more assists the previous season than any other player in the SPL, in what was a mediocre Falkirk side.

How many assists did McCulloch have the season that Gow clicked his heels in the stands ? Not many I suspect.

How do you suggest that he would only have been a squad player ? We spent the WHOLE of last season chopping and changing what was Gow's natural position because NO-ONE was up to it. Who is to say that if Gow was given a chance he wouldnt have made the position his own ? Inconclusive for either side to categorically state that he would have been a squad player or not based on ABILITY (I think that most of us can agree that it wasnt just football ability that caused him to not get a game - McCoist was raving about him having played just 45 mins against LA Galaxy, the type of statement that would suggest he had plenty to offer).

I care not a bit about the fact he has left Rangers because he needed to for the sake of his career and he wasnt going to get a game. I do however wish him well. Never came out and slagged off the club or management - kept a dignified silence when something obviously was going on behind the scenes.

He might have been a decent player for us, but in the end he wasn't. We got him on a free and for a squad player his wages probably weren't too high so there wasn't too much money wasted on him.

No idea why he wasn't given more of a chance, but he's gone now so there's no point in dwelling on the what if's.

Having done absolutely nothing for the club over a two year period I don't see how he deserves the loyalty shown to him by some fans, while others who have at least contributed something (ie. Adam & Burke) are cast out with no better than a 'GTF'.

From what the fans had saw him capable of doing at Falkirk and the glimpses of him playing for us, he looked a creative player - just what we needed at the time he was there. He was a rangers supporter, which also obviously holds favour.

Adam and Burke contributed sweet FA over that 2 year period. Dont know if they lost their way or what, but 2 of the laziest players on a pitch to have played for us, IMO.

Both players may have been inconsistent, but they contributed to our best European runs in recent history. Speaking of which, if Gow was such a Rangers man, then (whether he'd be playing in it or not) why was his face tripping him when we reached the UEFA cup final?
