Kris Boyd is still the Rangers number 9. :flipa::box::giruy:

Hopefully he will become the top scorer in the SPL (in its current format) by Xmas. Only about 13 goals to go.

Looking forward to Rothen's delivery for Boyd to thrive on.

No Boogie, Mendes or any of the other big players out the door. Hopefully we wont suffer from not bringing in a centre back.

Bring on the CL and number 53! :spl:

Ha ha, two cracking responses mate. :D

In all seriousness, keeping those 4 or 5 big names was huge for us. Well, at least it feels that way after all the shite in the media.

I have to say that keeping the players we already had on the books whilst seeing much deadwood leave makes this transfer window feel like a success to me.

Had we brought in a CB I would have said it was hugely successful and Rothen would have been a bonus.

But pivotal to us was keeping the likes of Bougherra, Davis, Mendes, Boyd and even others like Papac, Whittaker, Thomson, Miller, Naismith was important (I would have put Thomson in the "pivotal" category other than I dont think there was a fear of him going given his recent return from injury).

I'm disappointed we haven't brought in a centre half.

What happens if Bougherra breaks a leg next week? What happens when he disappears (in January?) to the Afican Nations Cup?

Is Weir too slow for CL football? Can he manage 2 games a week?

:(

Agree with your concerns though the games he misses for the African Nations do not overly concern me:

Hamilton A

Hearts H

St Mirren A

Falkirk H

Did we get rid of Beasley?

We seem to have pretty much done as the official line of the club said. A squad of 20 experienced players plus youngsters with no big names leaving.

We seem to have at two experienced players for every position bar the left and right centre backs. It's the one big, obvious hole in the squad. I'd prefer a 22 man squad with two players for every position.

At least bringing in a proper winger gives our first team a look of being well balanced and quite high quality (in relative terms for the current financial climate).

I'd definitely prefer to have our squad than Celtic's - by a fair way.

We've also had a decent start to the season and so I'm presuming most bears are now optimistic for the season.

You know me. :spl:

But i'm feeling pretty good for the rest of the season after today. Will get writing the positive articles for the rest of them to gripe at! :D
