CIS Cup - 3rd Round Draw: QoS v Rangers

Recommended Posts

Would you accept a defeat, then? I agree with you, and I admire the way Arsenal and Man U use the Carling Cup in such a way - but they quite often get dumped out by a lower league side in the early rounds. Worth it?

With how threadbare our squad is then YES, worth it. These kids may very well be called upon for 1st team action so get them in and give them playing time in the CIS - it is a diddy cup anyway and one I would be fine with foregoing if the kids got good experience

First point - clubs from the Championship and League One are a hell of a lot stronger than Queen of the South.

Second point - if we can't beat Queen of the South with 3 or 4 of our best youngsters in the side, then there is something seriously wrong with our youth development.

Arsenal don't get dumped out in the early rounds of the Carling Cup. Burnley beat them last season in the 4th round but that aside it's usually the SFs Arsenal get put out or the final where Wenger still plays a young inexperienced side.
