Urziceni is a town in Ialomiţa County, Romania, with a population of 17,090.

Founded by Romanian shepherds, its name is derived from the word "urzică" (nettle). It was mentioned for the first time in a written document on 23 April 1596, during the reign of Mihai Viteazul. It gained in 1831 the status of market town and in 1895 the city status. For 117 years, it was the capital of Ialomiţa county (between 1716 and 1833).

I knew that anyway like, just thought some on here would be interested.

Or so Sevilla are saying

Just goes to show what a big difference being in with the 2nd seeds has made to our draw. Really feel we have a realistic chance of coming out that group. That Romanian lot played my local club, Ayr United, in a pre season friendly and drew 1-1. Are coached by ex Chelsea full back Dan Petrescu.

Sure it's not the glamour ties, but we're probably guarenteed to sell out Ibrox for the 3 home games regardless of who we were playing so ticket money isn't the issue. For us, it's about getting points on the board, which equates to several hundrerd thousand pounds per point, and hopefully progressing to the last 16.

Urziceni will be a real headache for traveling bears to get to. Couldn't really get much worse actually. It's right in the top west corner of Romania just inside the border with Hungary. The nearest city you could fly into isn't even a Romanian one, it's Budapest in Hungary which is about 300km away. If you fly into Bucharest in Romania, you're about 600km away. It's not really a trip I'd fancy by coach either. You'd basically be going from Glasgow to Munich or Wein in Germany then traveling east through Hungary via Budapest & into Romania that way. I guess the only sensible option would be flying to Budapest or Bucharest if you could organise a coach to take you to Urziceni & back, but going via public transport might be a total nightmare.
