biggordy 0
STV have announced a new tv journalist is joining their " team " Ronnie Esplin who wrote " Rangers for Me " amongst others similar is now on the payroll. He's an interesting Google. Let's hope he can bring an un-biased opinion to their sports coverage.
Bluedell 5,883
Esplin is the man who insisted that Spiers wrote in his last Rangers book, which resulted in a lot of great contributors pulling their very interesting articles from it, and ended up spoiling what should have been a very worthwhile project. I lost a lot of respect for him over that.
Super_Ally 0
From what I saw of the sordid Rangers for me (?) episode I would be inclined to avoid all STV publications and broadcasts and advise them it was due to Esplin. Quite "mope-ish" behaviour though.

I lost a lot of respect for him over that. Do you think he may have put Squeers in to try and expose him for what he is or the objective being a balanced opinion. I don't know as I haven't read the book.
Norris Cole 0
Esplin is the man who insisted that Spiers wrote in his last Rangers book, which resulted in a lot of great contributors pulling their very interesting articles from it, and ended up spoiling what should have been a very worthwhile project. I lost a lot of respect for him over that. Interesting, I never knew that. I do know that Spiers' publishers slashed his advance on the Le Guen book by half after it was widely ignored as a result of a campaign by Rangers fans on FF (andy_steel take note). A similar fate befell 'It's Rangers For Me', so I find it hard to believe Esplin would have willingly jeopordised his own royalties merely to "expose" B.O. Bhoy.
andy steel 0
I must be honest, I never watch STV at all anymore.
