Sounds like we played really well and the goals look excellent.

There was a lot of negativity about paying so much for a friendly but it seems a few people went home thinking they got their money's worth.

It appears WS was right when he said we can't really hope to compete with the big 4 in England but we are in a similar level as the rest - and that's with Man City way outspending us.

I liked his quote to the English press, saying that if we were capable of competing equally with Arsenal it would suggest something was well wrong with their league, rather than something being wrong with ours just because we couldn't.

We've had three good results pre-season against Nuremberg (only just bounced back up to the Bundesliga but not to be underestimated), PSG (without PLG but pretty much his team) and big spenders Man City.

Even the Arsenal game was not as bad as the score suggests - especially with a perfectly good goal disallowed and a couple of missed sitters.

That game showed us we need to improve our finishing and defending and at least the first improved last night. Defending is still a bit loose by all accounts.

Shame Celtic got through last night, we could do with that 2.6M to get Tonel. But they have a very difficult round to come...

cal, although we scored 3 last night I wouldnt say our finishing has improved. I know what you are getting at but last night we missed some great chances again. In fact Noo's goal wouldnt have happened but for his airswipe moments before it ricocheted back to him.

Celtic surviving another round just pushes any signings back, but right back to the deadline unfortunately.
