calscot 0
I'd like us to sign Tonel and Brunt but don't want us to sell Bougherra. I think those two players would complete our squad but don't know where the money could come from. Although I think it could cost us in the long run if we don't strengthen and instead weaken our squad. If we get 1.5M for Fergie and Adam we'd still need about another 4M, so could depend on us selling Beasley, Gow and maybe get a half a mil for McCulloch. That still leaves us a couple of million short. The trouble is that the TV deal means we have to save another 3M when we're already struggling to break even, never mind pay back some debt. If Adam goes then the wages freed mounts up to that which is depressing as we won't be any better off and would need to pay wages for any incomers. It's a poor set of affairs and yet again we're suffering under the financial mismanagement of the board. We need to sort finances out so that we have around 4M to spend every year plus being able to reinvest any player sales. But it's going to get harder and harder to qualify for the CL with our coefficient dropping and set to drop more with 6 teams in Europe meaning any decent level of points gained by the OF will be divided by 6 and the rest of the teams are likely to emulate the poor results they achieve perennially. Motherwell are already dropping valuable points against very poor teams. We seem to be in financial freefall with our only hope being the Premiership bubble bursting and virtually going to the wall. Winning domestic trophies in our backwater is all we've really got to look forward to.
