Frankie 8,562
http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/breves2009/20090714_101429_bordeaux-vise-bougherra.html French newspaper suggests clubs are discussing transfer for defender. Rough translation: Bordeaux go for Bougherra - Rought Translation Madjid Bougherra is a priority for Laurent Blanc to replace Souleymane Diawara. Girondins are discussing with Rangers a transfer of the Algerian central defender, according to information acquired by L'Equipe. Bougherra, 26, is wanted on a four-year contract. On Monday, the two clubs were still discussing the terms of a transfer, the amount of which could rise to 6 million Euros. If the two clubs cannot do a deal, Girondins will look at Marko Basa (Lokomotiv Moscow) Michael Ciani (Lorient) and Kader Mangane (Rennes), but not Lillois Adil Rami (who is going to Marseille) or Mika«l Silvestre (who wants to stay with Arsenal). ian1964 10,724
Around £5m ??, if true Rangers could snatch their hands off !!!
Super_Ally 0
If true we will accept. If true we will need to buy at least 2 centre backs in the Boogie/Cuellar mould. Especially with Webster maybe going to Dundee United on loan.
Beattie 0
Also linked to Wigan: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_5433105,00.html Skysports.com understands Wigan are considering entering the race for Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra. The Algeria international, who can also play in midfield, is thought to be a target of new Latics boss Roberto Martinez as he tweaks his inherited squad. But the Latics could face competition from France where Ligue 1 champions Bordeaux are reported to be lining up a €6million (Ã?£5.1m) bid. Laurent Blanc's side will be playing in the UEFA Champions League in the coming campaign and the lure of European football could prove decisive. Wigan, who finished 11th in the Premier League in 2008/09, will only be playing domestically in the new term and that could hamper Martinez's efforts. Former Charlton player Bougherra turned down a move to West Brom last summer in order to join Rangers because he wanted to play in Europe. However, Walter Smith's side then suffered a shock elimination in the Champions League qualifiers at the hands of Lithuanian minnows FBK Kaunas.

Gazza_8 233
£5m? A bit cheap. We should hold out for the same amount Villa bought Cuellar for.

alexscottislegend 2,325
Around £5m ??, if true Rangers could snatch their hands off !!! No! No! No! I thought Boogie was supposed to be 'untouchable' acc. to WS. This would be disastrous. It would leave us needing 2 CB's. We may have been able to replace Cuellar but not this time.
