Gribz 972
I just hope we don't end up having to play Broadfoot or McCulloch as central defenders for any amount of time. Do you not think they would cut it against Inter Milan in the CL???

Super_Ally 0
Whoever we end up selling, it surely is not the way to conduct transfers. The buyers can wait till Rangers start getting nervous, buy for below the market price, and probably too late for us to negotiate sensibly, any additions to our squad. I just hope we don't end up having to play Broadfoot or McCulloch as central defenders for any amount of time. BTW I wasn't inferring any censorship, just wondering why you can't have a rumour in Belfast, plenty Rangers Supporters over this week-end.:spl: No reason why you can't. But I would have thought "Big rumours" from Glasgow or Charlotte Square Edinburgh would be more reliable. Who is in Belfast that has such a keen understanding of the inner workings of the club? As I said at the outset I wasn't being facetious. I wanted to know where this rumour might be coming from and therefore gauge the likelihood of it being true. Saying a rumour is originating from Belfast seems about as relevant as saying there's big rumours from Skegness, so I was just wondering what I was missing.

If Bougherra is out then it causes a headache straight away. Weir is reliable but plays using his knowledge rather than mobiliity. The thought of McCulloch at centre half is depressing. But I do think we will sign a centre half soon to solve the headache.
Bluedell 5,788
Why would Belfast be the best source for info on Rangers? Genuine question btw. It's probably just someone in Belfast who has read and understood some of my posts. It's actually fairly obvious. They are 3 of the players who would raise over £2m if sold, and are the most likely to go. Our financial situation is such that we have to sell to bring players in. We might spend a couple of mill from the CL cash if Celtic don't qualify, but otherwise the vast majority of that cash will go to meeting the running costs of the club, and reducing the debt to a level that's not on the edge of our current facility. I don't think there's any inside information needed to come up with the original "rumour".

IMO the money Rangers will spend for a central defender, will be as much as to only afford bargain basement players ['Well player Reynolds]. You are talking about English Division 1 players being bought and sold for the likes of £5m. We were very fortunate to buy Boogie when we did, and for the money.

Aye I suppose, it's not rocket science, need to sell before we can buy.
CammyF 8,728
Ha ha. Aye I suppose, it's not rocket science, need to sell before we can buy. Need to sell - FULL STOP Cammy F
chilledbear 16
Need to sell - FULL STOP Cammy F Very true......but why accept an offer of £500,000 for CA, when everybody knows there are 2/3 Clubs after him. Surely it's the perfect case of saying yes to the highest bidder.
