Scotland have confirmed Nissan Stadium in Yokohama as the venue for their friendly against Japan on 10 October.

The Scots last faced Japan in 2006 when they won the Kirin Cup under Walter Smith following a goalless draw.

The sides have only ever met twice, with the previous friendly encounter also ending 0-0 in 1995.

Scotland's fans will be familiar with former Celtic midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura, who won his latest cap in a World Cup qualifier against Quatar.

Perfect timing - right amongst our CL games.

Not that we have too many players likely to travel but hopefully Whittaker and Thomson pick up non-serious niggles then.
