SSN: Dailly and Hemdani Freed - Weir Offered New Contract

Recommended Posts

Re: Weir Btw;

Season 08/09

Rangers Played 49 Competitive Games

Weir played 47*

Season 07/08

Rangers Played 68 Competitive Games

Weir played 61*

*Weir's game stats taken from Wikipedia, hoping they don't count friendlies.

Sure with his age he may struggle to play as many games. Though perhaps not as much as some suggest.

His pace, more so in Europe is more of a problem which is not really related to his age (he never had any).

Step one achieved.

Out of the 3 players who were out of contract, I think most would accept Weir has earned a new contract and the other two have not.

Now we move on to the 7/8 players who move into their final year..........

Dailly wasn't a bad squad filler last year, I still think he stayed a year too long. But good luck to him as he leaves a double winner. Most succesful season of his career?

Lol, very good mate, made me laugh. :thup:

Craid, hadn't heard that re: Weir and Broadfoot. Any ideas where you read. Encouraging to hear some players at least are working hard on their game.

I cant remember Gribz but would have been one of the red-tops, likely the Rhebel.

Like I said in the 'Summer Departures' thread, Weir's increasing lack of pace is a concern, but I don't think anyone could say that he hasn't done enough to deserve an extension. I still hope we're looking to bring in a long-term replacement though and I say again that Thomson should be made skipper for next season.
