Takeover rumours - Consortium offer by next week?

Recommended Posts

I'm sure we've all heard these rumours over the last wee while.

They seem to be gathering pace on other sites. Basically, the story goes a Souness led consortium (containing high net-worth bears) could be making their offer as soon as next week.

I think Souness at the Old Firm game earlier this month has been somewhat of a red herring while I'm also unsure the likes of Dougie Park have the capital to turn the club around.

Certainly any fresh ideas and/or injections of funds would be welcome but I'm taking this rumour with a rather large pinch of salt.

Yeah, can't see it myself.

Money wasn't able to be raised from the high net worth guys prior to the credit crunch, so I can't see them digging deep now.

Monday's meant to be D-Day according to the rumours, and I very much doubt that anything will have happened by Tuesday.

However if it is true then at least they are going about it the right way by keeping it as quiet as possible, with only a few interent rumours and no other substantive details floating around.

Let's face it Murray can't go on for ever. Rangers are Champions and in the CL. These are probably the best conditions Murray will have to sell out. I haven't heard any rumours as i only use the Gersnet but i can quite believe that Murray thinks the conditions he now has are as good as he will get.

Just like the Old Firm going to the Premiership, this story crops up at least once a season. I'll believe it when I see it.

P.S. What's non-fact about Operation Tango

I mean the non-fact that united had scored.

Murray has wanted out for more than 2 years. Him wanting to sell isn't the issue. It's finding someone who wants to buy a loss-making club.
