Pissed myself lol at a prick on another forum who said

"Alex Ferguson? not in the same league as Sir Matt or Shankley or Big Jock

SIR Alex leads by a mile now.

Wonder if the poster was a T@ig???????

My Dad often refers to an article he saw in one of the broadsheets, probably a couple of years ago now, where they were comparing the great managers by what they won.

It was of course still a bit subjective in scoring, in that it was agreed a Premiership title was worth "x" amount of points (say it was 10) a Champions League win was worth "y" (say I dunno 20 points) etc.

Did anyone else see this peice?

In any case, SAF came out well on top and I think that is obvious when you look at his trophy haul not just at Man U, but at Aberdeen as well (:().

Everywhere he has gone he has sprinkled his magic. He won the league with St Mirren, and the nine months he was in charge at East Stirling is considered the most successful in the club's history.

In what way? Not being smart, just not as familiar with his early managerial career. Highest league finish or something?

Just what those at the club say (read Pointless by Jeff Connor). Interestingly when he left the club to go to St Mirren, they were above St Mirren in the table.

Cheers.

Were they in the big boys division then? Can only really think of them as the joke club of a recent years when they were the perennial bottom placed side in Scottish football. Bear in mind i'm a relative young'un and even in recent years barely look below the top two place in the SPL. :o

Ha ha, true. Some of the weird and wonderful team names I would never have heard of had it not been for a gambling addiction (I need to stay away fro mwomen's tennis btw. Do they ever hold serve?).

Think they've always been shit. Don't think they've ever been above the second-bottom division.

Fair do's. Success if obviously relative and it is with Aberdeen and then principally Man Utd where he has really made his name.
