Last 16 of the champions league & winning the SPL again next season will kick the stuffing out of the debt problem though Craig & it won't have shat all to do with wallpapering or moonbeams.

Are you sure about that ? And making the CL last 16 is that easy ? I doubt it. Winning the SPL is that easy ? Probably not.

See, there we are pinning our hopes on doing things which will undoubtedly be difficult.

We should have proper strategic plans in place to ensure that we dont HAVE to rely on these things. In fact, relying on making the last 16 of the CL is almost suicidal given that even if we win the SPL next year we could face very, very tough qualifiers.

Simply relying on these isnt the answer. Further, it could be argued, that your statement about the CL and winning the SPL is EXACTLY papering over the cracks because it is relying on only potential events to dig us out of the financial mire we are currently in.

If we are 30 million in debt then making last 16 of the CL might dig into that but not by the 15 mill that has been thrown about. Unless I am mistaken the 15 mill is REVENUE and the profit from CL is a fair bit lower than that.

Winning the SPL only gives us 2 or 3 mill does it not ? And if we win the SPL again there is a chance, I believe, that we dontget automatic entry to the CL so we may not get that nice 8 figure revenue again.

I am not taking a shot at the club - these are the times we live in. But in order to survive we simply CANNOT rely on the CL cash because we wont always make it there. We need to be self sufficient from domestic income.

We need to market ourselves better, look at other streams of income, have a longer term view of a strategic and business plan.
