Man, I didn't sleep a wink last night & not much the few nights before either. What a day indeed & I have to say I'm so happy for Walter Smith & his team because they really deserved this title no matter what anyone says against them. I've always been behind them, believed they could do it & tbh I think the majority of fans felt the same way. So, so chuffed.

We won the league and we are all over the moon but i dont think the digs at previous Rangers mangers, and dignified Rangers managers at that is called for. Time and place. And every Rangers fan deserves to celebrate tonight, at the end of the day, the only reason people moan is because they want the best for rangers, sometimes they are wrong, sometimes things are said in the heat of the moment but we all want the best for rangers.

Anyways . . . Im off to Bamboo haha

I don't think I had a big dig at Eck, I said he was ok; my dig was at those who use his ultimately limited success as a stick to beat our current (and better) manager with.

The criticism at Walter was that he hadn't won the league in his second stint, so now that he has, the wholly unfair criticism should logically cease - although I know it won't.

I've no problem with criticism of our managers when it's reasoned and fair, but I think Smith has had some totally undue character assassination that for me was well out of order.

Has he answered his critics? I think he has but I'm sure they won't think so.

I think he needs to go on and win the league again next season as well as exorcise the ghost of this season's CL disaster with a decent run in Europe again.

Walter has proven he's the best manager in Scotland in the last two years (two and a half really) and if he wins the cup he'll have won 4 trophies and three runners up, with one championship robbed.

The latter may not be remembered in the history books in the future but that's the difference between supporting the team here and now. We know and remember exactly what happened.

Gutted I missed out on the celebrations today as I started work at 3pm. Just arrived home and have raised a glass to the team for their performance today (yesterday now).

The day was 9.5 out of 10. If I was off and able to have a wee sherbet I'd have given it 10.

Absolute superb performance today from Rangers, they were all outstanding and deserve a lot of credit for the way they went about their business today, pure class and I am proud to be a bear

Good opening post Calscot and cant add anything to it.

Like you Ive been totally confident all season and I agree on WS. WS gave me some of my best Rangers moments in the 90s so regardless of what he did in this spell he would always have my support even though I have made a few comments about his selections and tactics this season. But the fact is this time next week we should be sitting on a double with auto entry to the CL. He has earned that so deserves a crack at it.

Walter Smith deserves another season at the very least, apart from a lot of crazy team selections I just can't think of anybody that could come in and do a better job, I can say I have never been one of the fans to try and oust him,I have too much respect for him, we could do a lot worse !!

Unfortunately the OP spoils a good post by having a go at former Rangers managers and fellow fans.

theboyharley sums up everything I feel. This championship is for the WHOLE Rangers support to enjoy together. It's for a support and a club that have been treated terribly by Scottish football and the Fourth Estate over the past four years. As I've tried to get across to the OP on many an occasion, supporters who moan at managers or players, whether it be McLeish, Smith, Dailly or McCulloch, don't do it for the hell of it - they do it because they want the best for the club.

A ridiculous attack.
