Papac out of OF game

Recommended Posts

Rumoured to be on Sky sports....anyone confirm!

If true WS will keep Whittaker at LB and play Dailly. Surely S Smith is the better option to fit into the role!!!!

Papac Old Firm Doubt

by Lindsay Herron

SASA PAPAC is losing his battle to be fit for Saturday's Old Firm showdown but boss Walter Smith will give him every chance.

The Bosnian defender, who has been such a steady player for Rangers this season, is still feeling the effects of a knee injury.

The situation looked as if it was easing in the early part of the week but it now looks doubtful for Papac.

Smith said today: "He is a doubt for the game but we are still hopeful. We will know more tomorrow."

Steven Whittaker played in the left back berth last week against Hearts with Christian Dailly on the right. However, Stevie Smith could slot in there if required.

Meanwhile, Kirk Broadfoot has gone to see a specialist in London in an attempt to get to the bottom of his foot injury.

His chances of playing again this season seem limited but Rangers will wait for the specialist's report.

Maybe WS will just drop Stevie Smith to LB ?, and leave Whittaker @ RB ?, which would then leave the LM position to..........Lafferty,McCulloch,Fleck,Novo ?????

That's what 99.9% of Rangers fans would do.

The question is What would Wattie do?
