ian1964 10,826
STEVE DAVIS and Pedro Mendes have been short-listed for the PFA Scotland Player of the Year award. The Rangers midfielders have been named along with Celtic pair Scott Brown and Gary Caldwell as the candidates for this year's honour. Davis and Mendes have been key men for the Light Blues this season as they strive to wrest the title back from their rivals and retain the Homecoming Scottish Cup. The voting for the Cheque Centre/PFA Scotland Player of the Year Awards has now closed. Footballers from across the four Scottish leagues have cast their votes and the four Old Firm players are the front runners. In the Young Player of the Year category Andrew Driver (Hearts), Steven Fletcher (Hibernian), James McCarthy (Hamilton), and James McArthur (Hamilton) are all nominated. The winners will be announced and presented with their awards at a star-studded dinner at the Hilton Glasgow on Sunday May 3 sponsored by Cheque Centre I can't understand why Davis & Mendes are up for this ????,Bougherra yes
Frankie 8,825
Absolutely bizarre. Bougherra and Boyd are probably our best two candidates.
Guest bigbear
Again Boyd ignored Grrrrrrrrr. The guy has scored 28 goals this season and nearing 100 goals for RFC. What does he have to do to be recognised by his fellow SPL players
craig 5,199
What does he have to do to be recognised by his fellow SPL players Play better ? Bougherra should have been walking away with this. Shows how ridiculous this award is.
Cotter 0
Er..Gary Caldwell? Jesus.
craig 5,199
Er..Gary Caldwell? Jesus. And that is ANOTHER anomaly. How the hell can Caldwell get in and Bougherra doesnt ? It is an absolute travesty that Bougherra isnt listed. He has been far and away the best defender in the league this year and most probably simply the best player. But to have him beaten to a nomination by Caldwell is just incredulous !
ascender 352
How bizarre. I'd have thought Bougherra or maybe Boyd would be up for this one, especially given how poor Caldwell is. Davis & Mendes????? Just don't get it.
calscot 0
It seems the winner will have only had a handful of good games in the entire season...
ian1964 10,826
An absolute farce of an award
ian1964 10,826
A ST Mirren supporter on the real radio last night came with'' Dorman should have been on the short list after scoring 10 goals, playing consistently well all season, in a team fighting for survival '', I have to agree he has a point.
