KENNY MILLER will travel to London next week to seek specialist help to clear an aggravating hamstring problem.

The Rangers striker has been troubled with the problem for some time now and it reached a stage last week where he could not continue playing and he missed out on the Falkirk game on Sunday.

Two intense international matches probably did not help his case and it looks as though he could be missing for at least another two weeks.

He is ruled out of tomorrow's game with St Mirren and will also sit out Saturday's home meeting with Motherwell.

Lee McCullochBoss Walter Smith said today: "Kenny will go down to London next week to see a specialist and hopefully we can get to the bottom of the problem.

"It's been an awkward one for him. He had been able to play but it got to the stage where it became more and more painful.

"Hopefully once we get things diagnosed and be begins his treatment he won't be out for too long."

Lee McCulloch and Kirk Broadfoot will also miss the St Mirren game and seem unlikely to be ready for Motherwell at the weekend.

However, McCulloch, who has a calf problem, could be available for the trip to Easter Road on April 19.

Maurice Edu has been lined up to come in to central midfield.

Why the hell did we let him go with Scotland when he was clearly struggling and never played our last game before the Intermationals. We should have pulled him out. So now he yhas done his bit for the Tratan numptys to the detriment of our Title Challenge. Who pays the players wages here  I'm fuming at this and it just adds to the growing problem with Scotland.

Regardless of whether you like him as a player the reality is that, aside from Boyd and Novo, what other proper options do we have ?

Velicka ?

Naismith ?

Boyd has been very much off the pace recently, Novo is just back from an injury and, in fact, injured himself again on Sunday, Velicka looks pish and Naismith is also just back from injury and not playing well, albeit in a wide position.

So what happens if Boyd or Novo get injured or suspended ? Would you REALLY prefer Velicka or Naismith to Miller ? Add to that the fact that Velicka and Boyd are very similar...... if it is Novo that goes out would you really want a front pairing of Boyd and Velicka ?

I don't get this attitude sometimes. Surely we want the WHOLE squad to be fit to give the manager a full compliment to choose from, or even give him options from the bench.

Miller is a better option than Velicka IMO so yes it could be detrimental to our league chances.

Was tongue in cheek.

We're that poor at the minute (I mean quality wise, but yeh we're short on De Niro's too :o) that any player missing can be detrimental.

The only "good" thing is that Miller gets picked almost irrespective of form and fitness. So as he hasn't had either recently it's possibly a blessing in disguise he is unavailable so Walter cant pick him.

Sorry then !

I still can't see it as a blessing to have any player out that when we are already missing players. The options up front are not good so I still fail to see it as a blessing.

Surely better to have options ?

Hopefully Novo and Boyd suffer neither injury nor suspension or we could really be up shit creek...... and we are close to that anyway !
