CammyF 8,408
RTV were showing the PSV v Rangers CL Group game last night (1-0 Rangers, Albertz with the goal) and this was the 'return tie' from our 4-1 victory at Ibrox. I have touched on RVN's involvement in these games as this was the time that he was coming to prominance. However, in both legs, and in watching PSV before and after our CL meeting, I was really impressed with RVN Belgian strike partner Luc Nilis. Nilis scored 127 goals in 224 appearences for Anderlecht and then an amazing 110 goals in 164 appearences for PSV. He then moved to Aston Villa where he suffered a horid, career ending leg break in (IIRC) his 4th game. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luc_Nilis [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgCUAmotxw0]YouTube - Compilatie Luc Nilis[/ame] Cammy F

Gazza_8 233
Yip, broken leg which ended his career. His name stood out more than RvN when we played them in the DA era.
pete 2,499
Nilis was an excellent player, not only did he score a lot he was such an intelligent player. Pure class. What a pity his career was cut short. He is now coaching the Strikers at PSV.

John Barr 0
Nilis was a quality striker. He always done the job for his teams and was sought after from big clubs all throughout europe. I used to like watching him and was disapointed that he decided to join a third rate club in Aston Villa as im sure he could have done it at a bigger stage than that.
Hurlock 0
Luc Nilis was a great striker but the legend that is Vincenzo (Enzo) Scifo is worth a look at, he scored an absolute rocket in Italia 90 against Uruguay !
Gribz 919
Nilis was a 5 star striker in 1 of the old Championship manager game. Was surprised to see his name against us for PSV...quality striker on his day and got a shocking injury at Villa.
