pete 2,499 Posted March 26, 2009 Share Posted March 26, 2009 Fulham, 12:01, March 24, 2009 Fulham are monitoring Rangers midfielder Georgios Efrem, who has impressed while on loan at Dundee recently. The Cyprus Under-21 international was sent out to the Scottish Division One side in February and has done well there, scoring two goals in six appearances for the Dark Blues. Fulham's scouts in Scotland have sent favourable reports back to boss Roy Hodgson and a summer bid could be made for the 19-year-old, although the Cottagers could face competition from several other English sides. Reports suggest Bolton, Middlesbrough and Reading have all checked on the midfielder and are also considering making a move for him. Hope you're right. Worse than anything Walter has done is to see other clubs constantly being linked to the cream of our youth. And even extending that to every club in Scotland, the answer is very few. Fans berate Rangers managers for not playing youth players and then ironically berate them again for signing the best young players from the SPL or SFL as unambitious. No matter what Rangers coaches do, we can realistically expect to regularly produce a much higher standard of player than the rest of Scotland put together, and if the rest of Scotland's youth is not good enough for us, why would our young players be so? Most of the half decent young Rangers players end up back in the SPL for another team - Hughs, Malcolm etc or carve out a career as a journeyman Football League player with the odd sniff of the Premiership.
