I put the lost 10M Champions Lge money at his door. Combine this with the summer signing policy - another 9M waste (Velicka, Miller, Laugherty, Edu - why buy him and not play him), and you have a lost �£19M. Advocaat was allowed to spend money to gain progress in Europe, and with the exception of Flo and Konterman, you cant argue that he brought in quality players and lifted our standard of football. The team that finished the final yesterday was a throw back to the end of last seasons team bar Mendes. None of the above players have contributed anything apart from a Laugherty goal in the league. How anyone can defend WS on this seasons exploits is farcical. Advocaat carries the can for all the debt that we incurred way back then. Smith was right up there too.
