Rangers surge nine points clear at the top of the SPL with another solid victory - this time at home to Hibernian. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=447:rangers-1-0-hibernian-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=1:articles&Itemid=67 :gw: I think the lad is getting better with every game. Improvement in his decision-making, stronger on the ball and generally more consistent with his distribution. Really gives us a good balance on the left.

Rangers go back to the SPL summit despite unconvincing display at home to Aberdeen. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=438:rangers-2-0-aberdeen-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 One fantastic save to claw Boca header away from his post, once again we had to rely on the 'keeper's quality.

Rangers storm to the top of the SPL with convincing away win in sunny Lanarkshire. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=433:motherwell-0-3-rangers-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :sd: One or two average performances this season aside, our new captain really has thrived with the added responsibility. Seemed to be everywhere on the park yesterday and only disappointment was his Bertie-yarder that didn't quite dip enough before hitting the bar. Nods of approval for Goian (again), Naismith and Ortiz in particular. Also very happy with McMillan and Perry.

Rangers lose important European tie amid farcical defending and further profligacy in attack. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=432:maribor-2-1-rangers-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :dg: The big man looks a snip at less than £1million and already looks like our best centre half. Really was Jekyll and Hyde performance from other players. Lots of decent work ruined after half-time.

Rangers go out of the Champions League despite fine attempt against all the odds in Sweden. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=429:malmo-1-2-1-1-rangers-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=1:articles&Itemid=67 :sd: I thought a few players did well but I feel Davis was our best player for most of the game. Starting to sympathise with him as we literally have no-one else contributing creatively from open play at the moment. Nods to Edu and Ortiz who both played well.

Rangers take the spoils with workmanlike performance in sunny Perth. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=427:st-johnstone-0-2-rangers-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :sd: Managed to see most of the game after all and the skipper once again stood out as our best player. More of the same on Wednesday please Steven! Jelavic, Naismith and Wallace all did well but I think Papac deserves a special mention for his bizarre afternoon at left-midfield then the holding role.

Rangers compound poor domestic start with dreadful display at home to Malmo in Champions League qualifier. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=425:rangers-0-1-malmo-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 If it wasn't for Shagger, we'd all be even more upset this morning.

Rangers get off to slow start in season 2011/12 with home draw against Hearts. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=422:rangers-1-1-hearts-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :sd: One of a few players who actually looked 'fired up and ready' like the new banners. Nods of approval for Edu and McGregor also.

Rangers take all three points with authoritative home win over dangerous Dundee Utd side so are now just one away win from a record 54th league title. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=413:rangers-2-0-dundee-utd-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 So fitting that our club captain was man of the match on his 41st birthday. By and large Weir has had another fine season and his performance last night typified the quality he has brought to the club over the last 4.5 years. Nods to Naismith, Davis, Lafferty and Edu who were all superb last night again. No coincidence that our midfield functioning properly again has resulted in more comfortable results. One more game lads - one more game! :spl:

Solid home win against Hearts at Ibrox means Rangers are now just two wins away from a third consecutive SPL title. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=411:rangers-4-0-hearts-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :sp: I don't think Papac has had a great season and his attitude/form lately has been suspect. However, like a few players on Saturday he was at the top of his game and showed he's still worth a new contract in the summer. Nods of appreciation to Edu, Davis and Lafferty who also played well. Jelavic is just a joy to watch - on a different level at times.

Missed chances prove important as Rangers now become second favourites for the SPL title with disappointing draw at home to Celtic. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=404:rangers-0-0-celtic-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 Keeper didn't put a foot wrong so gets a 10 which doesn't happen often! Kyle Lafferty also had a fine match while our defence played pretty well over the piece.

Rangers go four points clear with easy victory away in Dundee including three penalties! http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=402:dundee-utd-0-4-rangers-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=1:articles&Itemid=67 :sd: The wee man looked sharp, hungry and confident for the first time in a while last night. He has to take this form into Sunday's game and, if he does, we will win. Also thought Lafferty had a fine, fine match last night. :spl:

Rangers go back to the top of the SPL with hard fought win against St Mirren at Ibrox Stadium. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=398:rangers-2-1-st-mirren-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :nj: for me. Strange game on Saturday. We controlled the game easily enough but never really looked like scoring. We still need more from our midfield and full-backs to help out our attack. Not confident about tomorrow night unless we can change that.

Rangers take the points despite ragged performance on dreadful pitch in Perth. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=390:st-johnstone-v-rangers-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=1:articles&Itemid=67 Crucial save at 1-0 won us the points as much as anything else last night. Nods of approval for Lafferty and Whittaker also!

Rangers take the first silverware of the season with dominant display at Scotland's national stadium. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=386:celtic-1-2-rangers-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :sd: I said the other day we needed our midfield to show up if we were to win. And boy did they all play well with Davis showing us exactly why we rate him so much. In truth though, we could probably pick anyone and not disagree. :spl:

Wasteful Rangers pay the price for missing chances amidst overly-defensive display at home to Dutch league leaders. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=383:rangers-0-1-psv-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :gw: Young winger did fall out of the game a bit easily at times but when he did get on the ball he looked dangerous while putting in some fine crosses. Must be considered for a more regular place in the team.

Rangers reduce deficit to Celtic with laboured victory at home to average Killie outfit. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=381:rangers-2-1-kilmarnock-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 Not a great range of players to choose from but whatever Weir did he did pretty well for the most part so I'll give him the award. Cap is doffed to Bougherra who worked extremely hard and Weiss who came on to create the winning goal. Dirty look is given to management team for such a defensive team and less than speedy response to gutless performance from many players.

Rangers stumble past St Mirren in a results over performance afternoon in Paisley. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=379:st-mirren-0-1-rangers-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :kbartley: I thought most of our defence played quite well yesterday but Bartley's goal helped him win the award over the others.

Rangers take advantage of Celtic slip up with routine home victory over mediocre Saints. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=376:rangers-4-0-st-johnstone-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :sd: I've been wanting to post the wee man's name for months as MotM so am delighted to do so this morning. OK he wasn't brilliant but he was much tidier in possession, worked hard off the ball and was a threat in attack. More please! Cap also doffed to Jelavic, Bougherra and Papac for doing well. :spl:

Rangers progress into last 16 of Europa League and gain much needed morale ahead of SPL run-in. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=373:sporting-2-2-rangers-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :rf: Arguably culpable at Sporting 2nd goal the lad didn't let it affect him and provided the inspiration for both our goals while covering at the back when necessary.

Rangers at last provide some confidence for their supporters with superb demolition of Steelmen at Ibrox. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=368:rangers-6-0-motherwell-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :nj: Obviously others had fine games as well (not least Weiss) but the big man really brings such quality to our attack. We'll miss him on Thursday but if we can support him properly at Parkhead on Sunday, we've nothing to fear from Celtic. Bring it on! :spl:

Rangers move into first final of the season with hard fought victory over resilient Motherwell at Hampden. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=365:rangers-2-1-motherwell-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :me: Felt the big American was one of a very few Rangers players who was direct, strong and wanted to work hard to get result. Special mention for Neil Alexander who had a very good game considering he's not played in 3 months.

Rangers return to winning ways with routine victory over sub-standard Hibernian at Easter Road. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=364:hibernian-0-2-rangers-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :mb: Thought the big man was immense last night and was as good as I've seen him for a long time. Also scored a fantastic opening goal!

Wasteful Rangers are defeated by late Jambos sucker-punch in top of the table clash in Edinburgh. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=361:hearts-1-0-rangers-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :jn: The youngster was quite superb in the first half and I enjoyed seeing him add a more attacking virtue to his game. Was very unlucky not to score with thunderbolt but perhaps should have cut ball back to Whittaker before his other shot. Other than him, I felt a few players did well but we lost any threat we had after the break and I was disappointed the manager didn't go for two up front to stop Hearts from coming back into the game before they inevitably scored.

Has looked pretty poor recently if I'm honest but had a good game on Tuesday night IMO. Made a number of crucial tackles and was also reliable in possession.
