That's what 120 minutes of getting leaned on does to you. The Danes towered over the Croats and used their size and strength to both bully the pitch and channel movement. The only Croat goal was the benefit of a lucky bounce off a Dane which put the ball at the foot of Mandzukic. If the Danes had anyone who could push the tempo in the latter stages (notice Sisto sub in 80+ minute?) they may have taken it in regulation. They were frequently threatening in the Croat zone, just not enough offensive skill to bag one. Yet, this was a beautifully coached game on the Dane side...lovely thing. Just not lucky in the end.

Now THAT...was a fitba game! None of that fairy assed rollin around...bangin..hard fought man's game. Beautiful.

That guy Mandzukic has heart. Out there limpin like a hurt dog and still gave it his all. Denmark's D is on point man.

I find it shocking to read that a professional fitba team is not fit. Maybe i have followed the sport from afar for too long but is this common? One would think that fitness in professional sports as a team is a given. Of course there are members of every squad no matter the game who show up to training camp 'fat, dumb and happy' but an entire squad? Odd I would think.
