  1. the Wales game last night was absolutely brilliant. What an advert for football it was
  2. Walsall got to the play offs and didn't get promoted. They'll be punting assets
  3. my English experience goes back to when Colin stein and Willie Johnston were playing for Coventry and West Brom respectively. English fans described Scottish football as watching the game played in slow motion. Frankly, I agreed with them. Apart from both us and the tims despatching Leeds, the rest of European competition against English opposition saw us getting gubbed . Both Newcastle and Leeds turned us over. The English leagues were far better and it wasn't Sky what done it
  4. It's a heartening response from The People. It shows what happens when the football is good to watch what don't the rest of them get ?............play attacking football and everyone wants to see the spectacle.... .for most of the SPL it means getting beat 4....2 or something play 2 banks of four and you stifle the game and get beat 1 or 2 nil and it's shite to watch
  5. we need a centre back with a bit of pace and a striker
  6. think BT might also have a big say in it these days
  7. it's not wholly down to Sky though. The English leagues were superior to Scottish leagues long before Sky came on the scene.
  8. I think it would be an own goal to drop the ladies team. Women's football has a great future, we need to be part of that. In the longer term I would envisage mixed teams consisting of the best players regardless of gender
  9. absolutely. If Vuckic is available we should go for him !
  10. aye....it's history..........Ally will always be welcome....move on
  11. think it's stretching it a bit to say Ally would have won it under a different board
  12. what does it cost ?
  13. centre half and centre forward and we're done
  14. Niko Kranjcar has landed in Glasgow ahead of undergoing a medical at Rangers. The former Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers midfielder is a free agent after leaving New York Cosmos earlier this month and looks set to become Mark Warburton's sixth summer signing. Kranjcar will have a medical with the Ibrox outfit today after arriving in Glasgow earlier and could team up with former QPR teammates Clint Hill and Joey Barton at the Gers .http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/news/14573232.Niko_Kranjcar_touches_down_in_Glasgow_for_Rangers_medical/
  15. Is this a new post or is he replacing someone ?
  16. yet bizarre claims that it had been "sold out" abound elsewhere
  17. I remember Dick was interviewed about it. He said Murray put up £7 million and gave him the choice of a new player but Dick turned it down and insisted the money be spent on the training facility. That was far from a selfish act
  18. It was Advocaat that was responsible for it so maybe he should get a mention
  19. Aye but it's still Sunday night in South Africa
  20. Mariappa could be the centre half we need to bolster the defence
  21. RANGERS are closing in on a deal for midfielder Niko Kranjcar as Jamaican defender Adrian Mariappa considers his options ahead of a potential Ibrox switch. Kranjcar is expected to arrive at Murray Park within the next 48 hours to undergo a medical before putting pen-to-paper on a two-year deal with the Light Blues on Wednesday. Boss Mark Warburton flew out to America last month to hold talks with Kranjcar as he looked to convince him to quit the New York Cosmos at the end of his short-term deal and make the move to Ibrox. The capture of the highly-rated Croatian would be Warburton’s sixth acquisition of the summer following the captures of Matt Crooks, Josh Windass, Jordan Rossiter, Joey Barton and Clint Hill as the Gers prepare for a crack at the Premiership title next term. And the 31-year-old could yet be joined in Glasgow by Mariappa as Rangers look to clinch a deal for the former Watford, Reading and Crystal Palace stopper. Head of Recruitment Frank McParland and assistant David Weir held preliminary talks with Mariappa in Glasgow over the weekend as they look to bring him on board this summer. SportTimes understands that a deal is still a possibility and Mariappa is now mulling over his options following his release from Selhurst Park http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/14568653.Rangers_close_in_on_Niko_Kranjcar_as_Adrian_Mariappa_considers_his_options_over_potential_Ibrox_switch/?ref=ar
  22. fan ownership would secure the club forever
  23. I'd be seriously worried if we were spending millions on transfers. I'd rather be second than bust frankly. Just glad we're still here and that's the truth
  24. Maybe Celtic or Thistle will offer up training facilities for the 2 guys to sharpen up their fitness. It would be a nice gesture !
