http://m.stv.tv/news/west-central/314564-dave-king-seeks-court-permission-to-be-appointed-as-director-of-rangers/ Rangers' biggest shareholder Dave King has applied to the Court of Session for permission to become a director of the club and its parent company. The South African-based businessman, who gained control of the club's board at a vote of shareholders two weeks ago, requires approval under a section of the Insolvency Act relating to his involvement in the Rangers oldco. King was a director of the company when it went into administration, and subsequently liquidation, in 2012. The court must give permission for the 59-year-old to take up a formal post as the Insolvency Act forbids directors from taking up a post with a phoenix company which has the same or a similar name to its predecessor. No date has been set for the court to rule on the matter. In a public notice published on Friday, it is stated: "Notice is hereby given that a petition has been presented to the Court of Session by David Cunningham King, for leave, under section 216(3) of the Insolvency Act (a) to be a director of Rangers International Football Club plc and (b) to be concerned or take part in the management of The Rangers Football Club Limited." King, together with his associates Paul Murray and John Gilligan were all voted onto the board of Rangers International Football Club plc by an "overwhelming" majority vote of 85% to 15%. Murray is the club's interim chairman until King is given leave by the court. He also requires to be passed by Scottish FA chiefs and stock market regulators as a fit and proper person.

so 200 job losses and zero hours contracts. there's more to it surely. Didn't he close down one company then another of his companies bought the assets and the workers got shafted ! it must be quite unusual for a capitalist to be summoned before parliament for this type of thing.. They do it all the time !

is there not lots of hardened old pros in the lower leagues. Would a bunch of youngsters have been able to compete with them ?
-
is the education football related ? or is it the club ensuring basics like English and Maths in the event that some of these youngsters won't be able to make a living from professional football ?
-
so they were appointed by the previous board who knew a month ago they were on their way out ! I don't get it !

all for it -
has it never occurred to you that they opened the gates to avoid a crush against them. The fault lies with treating football supporters like animals and herding them into pens or behind high fences the like of which they put round pitches. I saw our supporters batter down 12 feet high wooden gates at St. James' park. The crush that resulted would have killed many of us had we not had an escape route onto the pitch. They hadn't penned supporters in at that time.

The previous board's Nomad was the bottom of the barrel. Hawked from company to company, he's probably written off books that no one else would touch. That's not King's fault ! -
I missed the game. Was there any signs of improvement at all over the last 2 matches ?

scapegoat it was pens and high fences that stopped overspill on to the pitch I remember a game at St. james park.....a lot of us climbed over the walls to get in......the terracing was choc a bloc...........but thankfully the crush got relieved when we spilled on to the pitch they couldn't spill on to the pitch at Hillsborough

I think if you call off an international claiming injury, you have to attend with the squad and be assessed by the country's medical staff.

Archibald Leitch made our stadium. He was a bear who didn't take a wage for doing it for us. he designed most big English stadia as well He has industrial masterpieces as well which we should care for and celebrate think Ibrox....Think Archibald Leitch -

Can you do anything with this. It's the old sentinal factory that made steam powered road vehicles. Designed by Archibald Leitch. it was the first building using reinforced concrete on the walls. It meant wide spaces inside without pillars because the walls took the load -

Stuart McCall officially confirmed as new Rangers manager
colinstein replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
It was refreshing on here that most posts "play the ball and not the man" as Frankie has urged a few times. Obviously it's difficult when outraged by dickheads but this site is better than most. Better than them all actually, and much more informative keep it up chaps -
appeal will overturn this..............it's way out of proportion but he'll spend a few days inside waiting

Truth is McCall was a better shout than Ally or Walter We need to get up and I can't see McCall accepting a 2 month contract. I suspect he'll get next season too if he succeeds. needs must. but in the long run we'll be looking for coaches who can develop players -
I heard it on he wireless.....no problems here !

so did I....hook, line and sinker it did take me a while to realise what was happening It was also an educational experience....seeing capitalism at it's base King is our best option he's done it because he's one of us and offered a way towards fan ownership
