This latest failure, what's David Murray's part in it all?
buster replied to ascender's topic in Rangers Chat
We are at another crossroads Like it or lump it DM is the boss so the next move is his He can take one of 3 options 1. Sell the club in the coming months, before the end of the season. 2. Decide that he´s going to stay, commit himself to 5 years, plan and spend accordingly. 3. Remain lame-duck chairman who thinks more in his image and fattening the club up for eventual sale rather than the club´s medium to long term future. The one thing we can´t allow him to do is take the third option. It´s the 3rd that he´s been on and it´s slowly killing the club on and off the field. -
Try reading these 2 mate. http://scotlandonsunday.scotsman.com...fm?id=32712007 http://sport.scotsman.com/topics.cfm?tid=63&id=33262007 What I would say is that he should have been allowed the chance to complete his project. What I find unacceptable is that because some of the players didn´t want the continental way they created an atmosphere in which it was very difficult to work. Them and us attitudes between scots and the rest don´t fill youngsters in a strange country with confidence eg. Svensson. So the failings, of which PLG isn´t blameless have a lot to do with the players petty attitudes. They didn´t like extra training etc., FFS and how much do they get paid !!

What do you think was at the root of his unwillingness, if true ?
-
I take your point mate. Problems between players has and will always be part of football. However this was players against 1. The manager/coaching staff 2. A change in football culture toward the continental. For me an unforgivable act by some of the players at our club. This was a change (PLG intro) that the chairman had decided upon and one of the few decisions of DM that I have applauded. With regard to the media Whatever your take on what happened, there is no disputing the problems in the dressing room (Read Hemdmai/direct quotes in SOS) and that they had a direct bearing on outcome.

I accept that the normal and sensible thing to do is put it behind us and look to the future. However, for me this week is /could be a huge turning point for our club. The club have decided that they don´t want to go down the route of the more continental/professional approach but return to the old way. The motivation for this change in route being proactive action and the lack of by members of the playing staff. Le Guens project may or may not have worked in the long term but I feel a great saddness that it wasn´t given a chance due to "professionals" at our club who refused to embrace change. Put it to bed, we must. But you must understand the level of discontent within a section of our support.

any word on the team/captain ?
-
For me Prso wouldn´t have opposed BF without good reason. Prso has the team´s interests nearer to his heart than BF, who has more mixed priorities, himself and the team. IMHO BF in creating this divide has been the most responsible for our poor season and current situation. The situation stinks and the root of the problem is still at Ibrox

Even if I had no idea of what had gone on, my instinct would be that Dado was the man with the club at heart. http://sport.scotsman.com/topics.cfm?tid=63&id=33262007 another interesting read "It was all quite bizarre," a disillusioned Hemdani recounts. "Part of the squad turned up Thursday morning, thinking there was training, and the other half were sat comfortably at home. Clearly, half of the players knew it was cancelled, and the other half didn't. Let's just say it was a bit strange. We should have been told." WTF is going on No wonder PLG couldn´t get these lazy feckers to play and therefore results were bad

http://scotlandonsunday.scotsman.com/football.cfm?id=32712007 IMHO best article yet on subject

He´ll probably go in the summer, although it´s not impossible this month to raise funds for transfers incoming. He´s a player and it´s a shame that he won´t develop here. Now we´re back to spending our limited finances on 30 year olds and having players injured in training. Takes you back to the old days........

Under 2 different approaches/managers Buffel has been found hiding too much. He should go, it´s obvious scottish football is not for him neither was dutch though ! the guy is talented but his career isgoing nowhere fast
-
I think it´s down to - poor scouting system (given size of club) - lack of oppourtunities for youth and failure to recognize those who will make it (so they go elsewhere) - too many of our youth think they´ve made it because yhey´ve signed for Rangers, thereafter don´t apply themselves properly (eg.booze & burdz)and don´t develop as they should. - example given by senior players (eg. BF, ex/captain of the club)

The numbers that I promised to a poster on here source http://home.skysports.com/clubfixtures.aspx?clid=67&cpid=14 Here are the numbers and apply to spl games that BF started (one appearence was as a sub came on at HT with Rangers leading 2-0 v Falkirk) Games that BF started. won: 7 drawn: 3 Lost: 6 Games that BF didn´t start won: 4 drawn: 3 Lost: 0 Other matches he didn´t play were in CIS one win (Dunfermline,A) and one defeat (St.Johnstone) and in UEFA win (Partizan)

more like a dig at the BF campaign (mainly run by media) to discredit PLG
-
eck, despite himself did get us past Xmas in Europe. Apart from that I´m with you, we´ll never know what might have been. There has been a campaign from the BF camp, noteably the media to oust PLG. DM has shown no backbone, if he´d immediately have backed his manager and transferlisted BF then PLG would still be here. The lunatics have taken over the nuthouse
-
On the radio scotland programme tonight it started with some audio clips of PLG´s time at Ibrox. One PLG line was quite revealing.(before m´well game) Chick Dung was the interviewer and asked PLG for the reasons behind leaving BF out. PLG said: "No I can´t but maybe your friends can"
-
"PLG is here for the long-term" DM is a selfish coward who cares more about his own image than our football club. That much was proved once again today. Only my opinion
-
don´t like the idea of McCoist cutting his managerial teeth at Ibrox. I think he´d be better as backroom staff similar to his Scotland role but going with him as manager is a high risk strategy. Remember John Greig anyone ?
-
yes mate, true. somebody on FF had the details yesterday I´ll try and get the numbers. FF is in meltdown and I can´t get after them at the moment but I assure you that it´s true. Here are the numbers and apply to spl games that BF started (one appearence was as a sub camo on at HT with Rangers leading 2-0 v Falkirk) Games that BF started. won: 7 drawn: 3 Lost: 6 Games that BF didn´t start won: 4 drawn: 3 Lost: 0 Other matches he didn´t play were in CIS one win (Dunfermline,A) and one defeat (St.Johnstone) and in UEFA win (Partizan)

NO Get BF´s brother Deek in from Stranrear, he seems to know alot then him and his bruv can just fight it out in the family house every couple of weeks.
-
this is going to cost a lot of money pay-offs to manager and staff pay-offs to a lot of players (again) new players turmoil at the moment could cost us 2nd spot if hertz or the sheep can put a run together. Sir David, you´re not doing a good job, time to move on
-
After today Last one to leave turn the lights out Murray is allowing our club to slowly die
-
For me DM has to follow him and NOW I hope he has a buyer lined up because he will be the next target. and this time a legitimate one There should be hundreds at the door at Ibrox with Murray out banners as I write this, but there won´t be they´ll buy has cráp. I´d be there but am currently in spain
