really enjoyed this weeks. keep up the good work guys. -
id bite your hand off to sign him.

Looks like real cash will be made available. Think it works out around £6m which will be used for general running costs. Add to that extra European monies & hopefully a retail deal I am hopeful that the next set of accounts will look a lot better this time with us relying less on loans.
-
Will there be any real cash made available or is this just a tidy up exercise?

Tavernier is captain, for that reason I believe he will start. His delivery into the box and goal scoring threat are a weapon we should use to our advantage. Flanagan will still have a role in certain matches though.

We are in desperate need for a proven striker, not a loanee kid but a 25-30 year old who is able to walk into that starting XI.

Derek Johnstone: Rangers' best squad for a DECADE
MrGaryValentine replied to JFK-1's topic in Rangers Chat
Big Derek is just being silly here. 10 years ago we had just came off the back of our best season in a long, long time. Fair enough the start of the 08/09 season we lost to Kaunus but we did go on to win 3 league championships in a row after that, then we know what happened. We certainly have the best squad we have had since post-admin, but that wouldn't be difficult. -
All the players will have x amount of minutes they will require to play as part of their pre-season. I expect Bury will be much of the same to be honest.

Hummel kit deal also begins today (June 1st)
MrGaryValentine replied to RangersLinfield18's topic in Rangers Chat
Hopefully we will see a new approach to the Megastore. I have only been in once or twice since the Ashley deal was re-negotiated but the available merchandise was grim to say the least. Would love us go back to the Club 1873 branding we had in 99/00, that was some decent gear. -
Saw that earlier. I would wait and hear the official line from Rangers. Feel for the lad.

Europa League QR3: Rangers / Maribor v FC Ufa / Progres
MrGaryValentine replied to pete's topic in Rangers Chat
Ideally you just want the easiest passage into the next round but I would prefer not to travel too far at this stage. It worrys me slightly that going by our pre-season squad we only have Morelos as a forward. Hopefully that is fixed before any deadlines. -
McGregor is the current Scotland number one and he knows what it takes to win at Rangers. Great Bosman signing.
-
I think it would be a massive GIRUY to them, they won't be able to handle us being back on top and that would just kill them off.
-
I am just looking forward to tomorrow or Friday whenever the next announcement happens.
-
STV are reporting they have resigned due to re-structuring so I am more positive than I was to begin with.
-
Don’t know about you guys but since 2012 I always fear the worst.
-
After last night it seems to be as close as it can be without actually being signed. Along with the rumoured investment, it is hopefully better times ahead. Just a wee off point - What has happened to McGregor & Arfield? That has went quiet?
-
I actually agree slightly. After the McInnes fiasco he was given the job until the end of the season to buy the board time. If we fail to finish second we can all agree that the gamble by the board has failed, however, I would much rather they took these 6 months to identify the right man to lead us through the next three years than just rush and appoint someone to make some vocal fans happy. It is a massive risk by the board, I feel Murty has been hung out to dry slightly after the Scottish Cup semi, and again after Sunday but I am sure in 10 years he will look back and say it was a massive learning curve for him as a coach.
-
It is a worrying trend. I remember the same tactic used after the Scottish Cup defeat to Hibs. Never heard a word until the pre-season began and just acted like we had forgot all about losing a cup final despite winning with 10 minutes to go! Personally I think the riot that day helped the board deflect from the match and result! 2 years on and we still haven't recovered IMO.

Investment apparently being announced tomorrow
MrGaryValentine replied to craig's topic in Rangers Chat
Just my opinion mate. I think we need to beat them. We need to brake this run if we are gonna move forward. Same for a cup, not saying we have to beat them en roue to a final but they ain’t gonna keep winning trebles. -

Clear second and a League or Scottish Cup has to be minimum for me. A win against Celtic. Single digit points behind them. Again that is bare minimum for me, those were my realistic targets for this season. -
My gut feeling is you are right... BUT, we are risking Europe now and I read somewhere the difference between 2nd and 4th is £500k in prize money. If Gerrard is the new manager he should be on the phone this morning telling the board he is coming in now because we could quite easily make an arse of this, finish 4th and have to rely on Celtic doing a double treble to give us Europe next year. That is unthinkable.

Hopefully now the merchandise deal is sorted that is the last of the dodgy deals fixed and now the board can focus on the field now. For me next season is their last chance to get it right. -

I would say on the pitch anyway that we have wasted two seasons. Infact from the moment we beat Celtic in that semi final we have slowely but surely got worse depsite bringing in a better quality of player. Main problem for me is we are still relying too heavily on players to perform who were basically signed to win us the Scottish Championship. Whole squad needs ripped up and start again! -
This really needs done & dusted today. Let Murty go & bring in Gerrard - TODAY.
