That was as humiliating as the 5-1 last season. Against 10 men for the majority of the second half and we still can’t beat them. People can kid themselves on that we are getting closer but they have been there for the taking this season and are 9 clear with a game in hand.

I think we’ve given ourselves too much to do this season but next season could be the one to mount a serious challenge as long as we don’t mess up our summer recruitment again.

It's funny but up until about 6 or 7 years ago Dundee United never really meant anything to me, just another generic diddy team who I only bothered with when they were playing us or the tims. Now I can't stand them. Although that is softening slightly as we haven’t played them in a while.

I’m not really into holding grudges. Both players contributed to winning titles, cups and oldfirm games. That’s what I’d rather remember if I choose to remember them at all. I’m certainly not going to vilify someone for being fallible - as all humans are.

I think we’d be relegated fairly quickly, to be honest. I think we should concentrate on challenging in Scotland before contemplating competing with Ajax, Basel and the likes. We crashed out of Europe to a team from Luxembourg at the start of the season.

We’ve definitely had to go to Tannadice three times in one season at least once. One of which was 2009/10.

I think Cardoso has potential in the way that all 23 year old professional footballers have potential. I think the problem is some seem to talk about developing player potential in a completely abstract way as if they are talking about cultivating crops or something. Football has far too many variables for a transfer policy like that to be anything other than risky - even when part of a multiple pronged approach.
