  8. I tend to agree, which is why I said before that I'd let him (and Tav) go for free if it means we free up their wages. Tav has some value in fairness, but not a lot. But no, I cannot see in my wildest dreams, us banking 6-7m for them.
  9. I get it. On the face of it, they should have some value, especially if a Saudi club is interested. We do need to replace them, they were not just some fringe players as you point out. However, at their age, declining form and the fact they will have no value in 12 months time IMO, I'd rather we get rid now, even if we don't bring much in for them. The two most important factors for me are 1. Getting rid so we can end "the cycle", and 2. Saving sizeable wages for the rebuild. Any fee we manage to recuperate is a distant 3rd for me. All I'm saying is if it was a choice between keeping them for the next two years or moving them on with little to no fee, I would bite your hand off for the latter.
  10. Honestly, I'd give therm both for free, to get rid and free the wages. if we get 2m+ we should be laughing.
  11. Out of his depth at CEO anyway. Hopefully we find a CEO that has football experience.
  12. Butcher was 28, Souness was 33
  13. Some of them, yes, they are biased. I have no problem saying that. Whether they are afraid to make the right decisions or they're simply just prejudiced, or both, I don't know. But we have been on the wrong end of some absolutely terrible and wrong decisions - the majority of which, I believe, would have not happened with an 'impartial' referee/VAR. Yes, we have shit referees in Scotland, but some are ALSO biased. That said, we need to focus, first, on improving our performances so that the impact of the referees is irrelevant. @PoohBear, don't think our fans are in the same category as the septic 'always cheated, never defeated' lepers that you quoted, but we have a right to call out dubious decisions especially when they negatively impact the result. Our fans are fairly balanced and will accept decisions that go against us if we think they are fair. However, too man have not been.
  14. So the season is finally over. Very disappointing again, to say the least. 36 players turned out for us this season. The list below also includes the third and fourth choice keepers and Alex Lowry, who never played any minutes. Some rebuild coming.... Butland - Sell if good fee or keep (starter) McCrorie - Sell McLaughlin - contract ended - let go K Wright - keep (squad player) Tavernier - Must Sell Goldson - Must Sell Souttar - keep (squad player) Barisic - contract ended - let go Balogun - renew contract (squad player) Sterling - keep (starter) Devine - Sell or loan out Davies - keep (squad player) King - Sell or loan out Yfeko - loan out Yilmaz - Sell if good fee or keep (squad player) Fraser - loan out MacKinnon - keep (squad player) Jack - contract ended - let go Raskin - keep (starter) Cifuentes - Must Sell Lundstram - contract ended - let go Cantwell - Sell if good fee to fund rebuild Dowell - Must Sell Diomande - obligated to buy, (starter) Hagi - Must Sell Lowry - keep (squad player) Rice - loan out Lammers - Must Sell Dessers - Must Sell Danilo - keep (squad player) Sima - loan over - buy if price is right Matondo - keep (squad player) Lawrence - keep (squad player) Wright - Sell Roofe - contract ended - let go Silva - loan over, don't buy Cortes - keep (starter) McCausland - keep (squad player) Lovelace - let go We are left with 15 players (if Butland stays) that maybe are good enough to keep and only 5 of them are 'starter' quality (IMO): Butland, Sterling, Raskin, Diomande, Cortes. We have just signed Jefte so we need at least another 13 or 14 players this summer without relying on the youngsters. It'll be interesting this summer. Or at least it better be.
  15. 👏 Well done Bluedell! And thanks again Rousseau for organizing and dedicating your time to the GPL.
  16. Yeah, it was an even game, however, they were far from being at their best, and we still lost. Clement did the best he could - selection and tactics were fine, we just don't have the quality. I won't call out the refereeing, which was as bad as it's ever been, because we are the masters of our own downfall as usual. As I said before, Clement has some big decisions to make this summer, the core need to go along with the mistakes that Beale signed. If we don't rebuild - properly, with some capable talent, it won't be long before the fans turn on the manager or the board, or both. As for Scotland, they will provide a few laughs for sure. Expect them to lose all 3 group games. Over and out.
  17. Losers to a man.
  18. Balogun and Ridvan make it, which is great news. Some good options off the bench as well. C'mon Rangers, let's do this.
  19. Very classy, love it!!
  20. What are we supposed to judge at the end of the summer, our dealings in the transfer market? It'll take a a good run before we know what quality he's brought in. The first quarter of the season, after we've played all teams once, may be a better gauge as to whether we're going to be up for a title fight or not but I would be hesitant to judge Clement too quickly (and it depends on how much he can change in one window). It would do more harm than good if, like Beale, he was sacked in October due to a bad start. I would be prepared to give next season and the one after just so we don't find ourselves in the same position season after season - I'm note sure the majority of our fan base wouldn't be so patient though. I think we just have to stick with what we have for the foreseeable and hope he eventually gets it right as we don't have the money to replace almost everyone.
  21. Can't disagree with that. Clement has not lived up to his early hype unfortunately, and I can see fans' patience running out with him, especially if we lose to them again next weekend. If he can't build a team that is robust and talented enough to go head to head with Celtic for the title next season - and that means beating them twice at least, then I believe the fans will start to turn on him. I like the guy but he'll need to be absolutely ruthless if he wants to win the title, so I do hope that some of his press conference comments over the last few weeks were not what he really thinks. Otherwise, he is doomed.
