  1. "Yes. Well we have to" translated means "Yes...erm...I mean no, but we have to try"
  2. Agree, there's no debate. But I think we've lost that gung-ho style confidence and I don't see us getting it back by next week, especially with Morelos gone, we just don't have someone that replicates what he does for the team, especially in Europe. Kent, Roofe, Aribo etc. are all capable, but they're not playing as a cohesive unit and individually they are all off form. Add that to the disorganised defence and it's unlikely we have another performance in us. There's no taking away that it's been a phenomenal achievement to reach the quarters though.
  3. 4 weeks ago, but then we have stumbled and stuttered since then, don't you agree?
  4. Excellent, but it feel a long time ago now.
  5. As I said, it's possible. However, our recent form doesn't fill me with confidence.
  6. Possible, but I don't think the fans can make up for a team devoid of ideas and a scoring threat. Where's that coming from? I just can't see it.
  7. So 1-0 down at HT, or 3-0 if using a Red Star calculator. We're not very organised in defence or attack, but they have weaknesses that we're just not exploiting.
  8. the game's there for the taking but we don't seem to want to take advantage
  9. We don't make anything look easy, but then neither did the 2008 Finalists.
  10. Sorry, I was being sarcastic
  11. I wonder what the formation will be. Did Gio watch Athletico and is looking to replicate the 550 formation with Kent and Sakala offering the pace for a counter attack? might be interesting.
  12. Expected Kent and Sakala but surprised with Arfield. Feels experimental but let's see how it goes, we can always bring on Diallo if we're chasing the game later on.
  13. This game is no longer a free hit!
  14. Yep! Just amazed that we sat and watched the inevitable unfold as if it was a surprise.
  15. I thought you were the positive one, Ian
  16. So let's assume Gio will be the manager next season, I think we all agree that won't change. He needs to be backed and we need to sell first, again probably no debate there. Morelos, Kent - last year of their contracts will be sold. I think we also need to sell Aribo, Kamara -with those four our most saleable assets and could bring in 25m - conservative estimate. I know I keep saying but Wilson needs to bring in money for players that have largely failed lately: Barisic, Wright, Simpson. We will also free ourselves from some hefty wages - McGregor, Goldson, Davis and those on loan: Amad and Ramsey. That provides the opportunity for Gio to model the team as he wants and if all the funds from sales are made available, that's not a big ask. I know many will say we don't need wholesale changes, but I think we need a full restructure of the team as I think it's the collective that's the problem versus a few individuals regardless of how it seems at times. The opportunity is then there to play a different system starting at the back with good defensive FBs (not to say they can't bomb forward but they need to be able to defend better than Tav) and so yes, I believe Tav is part of the issue despite his stats. I also think that's how Gio would want to set up with his keep the zero. We also need better options up front who have the ability to play solo or in a partnership depending on the opposition and a couple of good wingers that are also good finishers. One commanding midfield general in the mold of Barry Ferguson that can chip in with goals wouldn't go a miss. It's not impossible and we've restructured brining immediate success before and it gives Gio no excuses to go and prove to us what he can do if backed. Or we bring in an other couple of squad players and hope they break through to be regular starters. and hope Gio is a miracle worker.
  17. Replace Roofe with Sakala and I’m with you.
  18. Not feeling particularly up for this as of now, but that will change. In the meantime... Braga 2 Rangers 1 FGS: Sakala
  19. Well at least the timings not too bad, the season being over and all.
  20. Or maybe not. If we (and them) have to foot the majority of the bill, I'd hope that the club demand that it's officiated by people better than the SFA have to offer.
  21. I went for Ramsey simply for the goal and the fact nobody really deserved it anyway
  22. Neighbours, Everybody needs good neighbours With a little understanding You can find the perfect blend Neighbours...should be there for one another That's when good neighbours become good friends Ooh Neighbours, should be there for one another That's when good neighbours become good friends.
  23. I think he'll be the first to be moved on since he will not sign a new contract and is the most valuable player we have. Followed closely by Kent, our second most valuable player. If we can get £25m for the pair, that's the transfer kitty for next season right there. I'd like to think we could get another few £m combined for Barisic, Kamara, Wright, Simpson etc. However, my fear is that Ross's player trading model is to chase the easy bucks by selling our next gen talent e.g. Lowry.
