  1. The fact that he and the board were aligned to the fact that they could not afford to fix our issues in the short term, hence why we've bought project players or players that will be goo enough in seasons to come, not necessarily now. Further alignment was proven with the managers contract extension. At the end of the day, we can't afford to bring players in to fix the short term. No expectations today, I saw that from Clements post match interview. He's clearly comfortable that he's got the security of time. That's a rare commodity for Glasgow, and one which I don't believe will end well. What happens in 3 years (is that long term?) and they hurtling towards another treble and a 59th league title, whilst lapping up the CL money year after year. No, I don't buy it. Maybe there was a glimmer of truth in a takeover. This board can give no more.
  2. Mostly fine, terrified for Tav though.
  3. That's fine but you don't see Sterling anywhere in your strongest 11?
  4. I'm with you regarding Matondo, but no Sterling?? I'd have Sterling at RB and remove Tav, that'd be my strongest 11.
  5. I agree that it's too early to judge the transfer window. All I want to see is season on season improvement. Like Gerrard, if we see continual improvement, we can get behind the manager. For me, that would be taking points against them in meaningful matches, making a legitimate challenge in the league and progressing from the new EL group stage format. Cups aren't much of a gauge unless we beat them en route to the cup.
  6. I thought Kasanwirjo was primarily a RB? I do hope that allows us to 'rest' Tav in games where he would be targeted. A #6 and another striker would have been good though, but to be honest, I'm surprised we got two over the line. Time will tell if they are good enough...but we live in hope.
  7. Celtic 1 Rangers 1 FGS Dessers
  8. Butland Sterling Souttar Balogun Jefte Diomande Barron Lawrence Cerny Dessers Matando I don't think Clement will drop Tav, but if he's brave enough, I hope he starts Sterling at RB. However, if, as expected, he starts Tav at RB, I would have Sterling at RCB to cover, and drop Souttar if Balogun is fit. The rest of the team picks itself for me. If Cerny has one of his indifferent performances in the first half, I'd replace him with McCausland toot sweet. Lawrence keeps his place as he gives us a that rare goal threat from outside the box and has some momentum to build upon. We could win this one if everything and everyone clicks.

  11. i agree. We should also give Nasaila and Frasier game time too.
  12. Nobody will be overt about it, but read between the lines and I think it's obvious. Clement expected a war chest, he'd not getting it unless, by some miracle, we can off-load Hagi, Cantwell, Tav, Davies, possibly Dessers, for a good few million. That's looking more and more unlikely. What's also looking unlikely is Clement's ability to work miracles with what he's got and since the board cannot fund a proper rebuild, the support are looking to Clement to do the best with what we've got. I don't know if he is.

  15. It wasn't a great performance, and Kiev aren't as good as some made our after their demolition of Partizan. However, the team kept going til the very end and secured a good draw, keeping us well in the tie, perhaps favourites to progress. Cyriel Dessers - he takes some flak, but he puts the ball in the back of the net - when nobody else is chipping in. He may not be the perfect Rangers no9, but he deserves more credit than he gets IMO.

  21. He comes across as very mature, well spoken and down to earth. Future captain material whether that be at Rangers or elsewhere. Good luck to Connor, I hope he's very successful with us.
  22. At 22 years old, you shouldn't be in the academy. If he's not good enough at 19, move on. There are players 6 years his junior at the Euros.
