  1. Yeah, I noticed that. Don't know if it was because he/they knew it would be offside, but I doubt it. Sums up the attitude and spirit right now i.e. none
  2. If you were running Rangers results through an econometric model, you might conclude that the EL run last season was just positive lag from SG era. I fear for Gio, results are not going to improve. Sorry to say.
  3. Depends what you mean by compete. Of course you can compete, may not win but they showed last night that you can compete.
  4. Don't mind the score, totally expected, but the casual attitude and lack of any sort of pride is what grates me. If Gio and his team are worth their salt, then at least a change of attitude should be apparent in the 2nd half. I don't mind if we lose another 3, but I'd rather we did so with a fight. I read someone saying the problem with celtic is they go in all guns blazing, but have no street smarts. I'd swap their performance every day for this crap. It's unwatchable.
  5. Rangers are currently 33rd in UEFA coefficient table, probably around 40-50th in terms of revenue (unable to confirm but is an educated guess - Man City are 1st with 644m revenue - Lazio are 30th with 163m revenue, Deloitte 2021) of about 1037 professional clubs across 37 professional leagues in Europe. So we're well within the top 3-5% depending on whether it's based on performance or revenue. Dwarfed by the biggest clubs in England and Spain but not small by any means.
  6. We'll lose in Amsterdam, can't really see any other result. However, we should be scudding everyone else in the league, the quality is dire this season.
  7. Agree. And I'll say it again, too many players have not been given a proper run of games - it's difficult to get up to speed with a few cameos and starting one week and then on the bench the next. I know he hasn't hit the ground running, but I have high hopes for him. he's shown glimpses with some great assists already. The same goes for Davies and Yilmaz...and the youngsters, if we want a player trading model like Ajax, we need to support the kids (that have great potential) and play them even if they make mistakes, that's the only way to learn. Nothing to lose now. Europe target achieved and we certainly need to shake things up in the league games.
  8. I don't think Gio should be sacked and he won't be. But he needs to find a way to win consistently in the SPFL and if the current players are not delivering the game plan, then use the youngsters, I mean the B side would have performed better as a team yesterday for christ sakes. There is nothing to lose by giving them a chance, and if the player trading model is to be successful that's our best hope.
  9. 😂 "The world is full of people who barely understand what's going around them". And you direct that at me because I don't feel we had a MOTM. Strange fellow.
  10. McCrorie should be given a chance, did extremely well before when called upon.
  11. What if there's no deserved MOTM? Should we just vote anyway so not to look huffy and petulant to you? LOL
  12. Even if you think some but not all of those players are not good enough, let me ask you this: What does success loom like for you this season? Is it winning the title? I'm guessing the answer has to be yes?? Secondly, do you think this squad can win the title this season? I'm not sure many fans do now after the deja vu of yesterday, but I'm interested in what you think. Finally, maybe you don't think it's a squad issue in which case you maybe you think a different management team is needed to get the best out of the current squad. Answering 'Rubbish' is a poor response without a counter argument or opinion.
  13. And repurposed into Get Well Soon cards
  14. Okay, don't complain then when we won nothing this season.
  15. McLaughlin will retain his place. Should he? No.
  16. Absolutely not. They are delighted that we are bringing big money in from our European exploits. If Gio keeps getting us to the promised land of CL even if through qualifiers, he won't be sackedl
  17. And he has taken our incoming revenue to the next level and doesn't push for signings so he's the golden boy.
  18. No thanks, can't even contemplate MOTM after a 4-0 defeat to them.
  19. probably a bit of both to be fair. Their recruitment is much better and so is their coach.
  20. Rubbish, really Cammy? We can discuss each of the players individually if you like? Goldson is a lazy defender, caught sleeping too often, but hey he's good at taking a yellow for the team...or himself. I was Kent's biggest fan, but for too long he has shown no end product and can be liability by trying to dribble out of defence. His numbers are fucking pathetic. Barasic has found some crossing form at last but is a liability in defence and is unable to play out from the back. Wright shows some pace and tenacity but his decision making in the final third is too often terrible. Sakala has no end product (or at least it's too rare). Don't start me on Morelos. Yes once the darling of the Rangers fans despite his fitness and petulance. All that's left is the petulance (but I continue to hope that he gets back to his old best). Matondo is settling in and I have hopes for him, but he's not going to be in the starting 11 until we see some more consistency. McLaughlin is not going to be a fan favourite, perhaps we've be spoiled in that position and that goes against him, but he is never Rangers quality. I could go on. Stop referencing last seasons EL run (but lost the league) or 55 (helped by the capitulation of Lennon's last stand). This is now and this squad is not good enough compared to them (that has to be the barometer, right? unless second is okay for you?)
  21. McLaughlin, Goldson, Kamara, Kent, Barisic, Wright, Morelos, Sakala, Matondo are NOT good enough for Rangers. They've all had their moments, but they have not been on it for too long. (I give Morelos and Matondo a chance to prove me wrong). It happens in football. Given we also have medium and long term injuries to Hagi, Helander, Souttar, Davies, Roofe, (add Lowry and Lawrence to the short term injury list) - we needed to strengthen to just attempt to be successful this season. Don't you agree? PS. Sorry for deliberately waiting for this evening to reply to your response, I thought you may see clearer now.
  22. Will be interesting to see how Gio reacts...
  23. Hope so, he's miles better than McGuffland
  24. Agreed. If we can't bring in better quality, then we need to see if it exists within, that means we give Lowry (when back from injury), McCann et al a proper run of games. The league is gone already and there's no fear of coming third, so if we want a proper player trading model then let's execute it properly and take a leaf out of Ajax's book. Only then might we take some positives from this season.
