The opening ten minutes told you everything you needed to know. Grim that we never seem capable of changing a game.

So Scott Wright is our best player…😐

Utterly shambolic so far. And Aris are a poor side. 11 men thrown together, relying on individual ability.

I mean, of those three I’d probably say Muscat because there’s at least a chance he has something. The other two should be nowhere near our list.

Not going to read the 38 pages. Any one willing to post a summary?
Beale wasn’t a popular a choice on this forum.

I hope the board's real preferred candidate is not on those lists and we're trying to blindside the press. Otherwise, it's going to be a rough next season or five.
I’ve been hoping that the past two appointments, and we’ve ended up going for the fans favourite and apparent “obvious choice” both times. I don’t trust that we have the data-based approach to identify good managers tbh. It will probably be worth of mouth and waiting to see who comes to them.

To be fair, I wasn't expecting a new manager to be appointed straight away.
Beale had to go, though.
Hopefully it's only one game the interims have to navigate.
Agree. No reason to worry yet.

Davis in interim charge and Alex Rae helping him.

Whether he's the answer or not I don't know, but Kjetil Knutsen has had a bumpy couple of months at Bodo Glimt and the timing might work out. Having said that, I've just checked and he'll be back top of the league in exactly 5 minutes.

Red flags have been there for a long time so if the board are remotely competent, they shouldn’t be starting from scratch right now.
Beale has been yet another pothole we couldn’t afford to hit and we feel as far away as we did when Gerrard joined at the moment. Free access to Champions League money 3 years in a row makes that the case. It will take a genius appointment to stop that happening, and I don’t think our board have that in them.

Champions at passing it around. Were lacking creativity and penetration though.

Is Beale actually going to turn the ship?
No. But tonight we celebrate a good win and do our usual, hope against hope.

Good result! Much better second half.

Much better for the last 5-10mins of the half as we finally realised it was Real Betis we were playing and not Madrid. Players grew in confidence from that spell and worked off the support.
We must start the 2nd half in the same way and improve our quality in final third.
As limited as our options are, a sub would help too. Sima doesn't offer much and too many attacks break down with him.

At least there’s been a glimmer of hope in the past 5 minutes

Not sure I can watch all of this.

We just really don’t look very good at all. And Betis look ordinary.

Which manager(s) would you like to see at Rangers?
Truth is I don’t have time to keep up with football outside of Rangers these days because I have a young family so I don't really know of anyone outside the box. Knutsen looks good on paper and I've been keen on him since pre-Gio. There's talk that Muscat is similar to Ange in his style of play? A quick look at stats and he has a better win ratio than Ange at the two clubs they've both managed at (there are slight sample size issues). You could argue Muscat benefited from the foundations being laid in both cases. Without being closer to it, I've no idea. He flopped badly in Belgium.
Dejan Stankovic looked a good option pre-Beale, I was keen on him. He had experience of managing a team in an identical situation to us, at the top of a rubbish league with one strong rival. His record there was absurdly good, 78% win record. The best Red Star have ever had if you exclude small sample sizes. He subsequently got relegated with Sampdoria, apparently at least in part due to financial issues at the club though. He was appointed Ferencvaros manager 2 days ago. I'm going to follow him very closely there because that's a very comparable situation again, they are going for six in a row.1 -
There have to be great options out there but I have no trust in the board to find them. Celtic found Ange because of the city group link. It just feels like any appointment we make will be very risky because we don’t know how to look for managers.

at some point we have to give a manager a proper chance. at very least 2 full seasons
Should PLG have been given two full seasons?
Caixinha joined in March, and before the end of the season he'd managed to get hammered 5-1 to Celtic at Ibrox and lost 2-1 to Aberdeen at Ibrox. In 10 league games he managed to drop points in 4. In other words, the writing was on the wall from the very beginning. Should we not have sacked him? And saved him the hassle of explaining himself from a bush a few months later?

We bank money for dropping into EL and go in as top seeds (IIRC).
Unfortunately we’ll almost certainly miss out on that.

If I was the manager I would have said the same. I’d have at least signed some Football Manager wonderkids or something though. Not Lammers and Dessers.
