Only one sleep away from gameday !

Will be interesting to see how we line up.

Two up top for this game is surely a given.

Good opportunity to go with the 3-5-2 if we have enough central defenders fit and ready.

It could also do with Barisic being available.

Defoe and Davis and coming in has even got me excited about a 3-5-2 so I hope we see it ? Against Cowdenbeath I think we'd be fine with Kent or Middleton on the left.

Yes,  he needs to remain fit and healthy after playing half a season of at least 90 minutes of first team football every week.

It would do wonders for his value. Unfortunately I think the best case scenario for us on Rossiter is he goes to a League 1 side like Fleetwood and proves he well above that level and a Championship club come in with a bid in the summer. This is pretty much what seems to have happened with Docherty. Championship clubs scout league 1 heavily and trust it more than Scottish football imo because it's more easily comparable to themselves.

Still a bang average player, but add confidence, guts, heart and desire and it helps a great deal in addition to good coaching. I wouldn't have him as first pick for any position he can play but a decent enough backup assuming his wage is quite low.

It's in games like the old firm that you see the value of those old fashioned qualities. Compare the £15m+ Porto target to Halliday that day and you'd never know one was valued so much more highly than the other.

Adam Lallana to Rangers? Steven Gerrard’s side installed as favourites to sign Liverpool star

Gerrard’s former Anfield team-mate has played just 300 minutes of first-team football this season as Jurgen Klopp eases him back from injury

RANGERS have been installed as favourites to sign Liverpool and England star Adam Lallana in the January transfer window.

Steven Gerrard’s former team-mate has played just 300 minutes of first-team football this season as Jurgen Klopp eases him back from injury.

The 30-year-old faces midfield competition at Anfield from Fabinho, Georginio Wijnaldum, James Milner, Naby Keita and Jordan Henderson and Xherdan Shaqiri.

According to oddschecker.com, Bet Victor have made the Light Blues the joint frontrunners at 4/1 to secure his signature before the window closes.

Lallana has also been tipped to head to Turkey on loan, with Fenerbahce reportedly interested in the former Southampton star, capped 34 times for the Three Lions.

Gers have already brought in Jermain Defoe and Steven Davis during this window, with Gerrard also agreeing pre-contracts with Dundee’s Glen Kamara and Kilmarnock’s Jordan Jones.

We told yesterday how the Ibrox club were eyeing a move for Charlton striker Karlan Ahearne-Grant.

Gers were also linked with former Man United starlet Ravel Morrison.

It's just bait from the betting companies, there no chance of that happening.

Quite excited to see Kamara come in. His ability on the ball in the middle of the park will be very welcome. Shinnie apparently likely to join Wigan. I think on a free Shinnie would provide excellent cover at left back and centre mid  but I think we'd have moved by now and I'm not sure he'd be keen with how much abuse Jack has had from that lot.

I actually like the look of a 4-4-2 diamond. RB Salzburg are one of the best sides to watch, for their intensity and pressing, and they play it.

It's maybe a waste of our wingers, though?

Kent and Grezda could roam as a #10.

I like having full backs and wingers but I actually think the wing isn’t our strongest position right now and with Defoe in the team it’s going to be very hard to justify playing Candeias/Kent ahead of him.

I don’t think Kent is suited to the AMC role. He’s just not good enough at passing or shooting, he’s an out and out winger. It’s made for Murphy/Dorrans if they were fit. Until they are I’d prefer Arfield there with McCrorie the anchor and Jack pushed forward one.

Having said that there would be times when you’d want the pace of Kent or Middleton to add that dimension to our play. In any case I’d certainly relish seeing us start a game with such an attacking lineup.

realise DMAA was joking when he mentioned Football Manager, but their database is now used by many top clubs around the world.  They have more scouts than any football club has afterall.

You have to wonder why it seems everyone except those in the club knew about Football Manager during the 2011-2015 years. They bemoaned our lack of a scouting department and largely stuck to Sportscene scouting.

Newspapers will get some right and many, many more wrong.

Transfer stories are usually click bait and often placed upon the instruction of agents.  Their links are usually lazy rehashes of unfounded rumour and, for the most part, you'll get better info from trusted fans on your forum of choice.

I avoid HITC and the growing list of similar clickbait websites which fit your description but over the last few transfer windows I've found the Daily Record to be reliable.

  9. Aren't they making things more difficult than it needs to be though when all you have to do is go and buy the latest Football Manager? ?

We've needed a destroyer-type player, so we've gone for an unknown Coulibaly (although he's went off the boil) and now we've gone for Kamara, who's similar. It's intelligent player acquisition.

I still think Coulibaly is good at this role. He largely went off the boil when he was asked to play further up the field and predictably struggled. I blame Gerrard for that one I'm afraid. The silver lining is that as a result Coulibaly's value hasn't risen much you wouldn't think so I'd still consider signing him because he has a lot of ability a destroyer and is very young.

I wouldn't say Kamara is a destroyer type from what I've seen. He's the opposite of Coulibaly, very technically gifted and strong in possession and even playing through balls. He has the ability to get into a tackle but it doesn't seem to be his strength. I seem him being a good player to have when we are at home and need our centre midfielders to be good in possession and creating something.

Our team was knackered towards the end of December, with injuries mounting up; I'm thankful for the break to hopefully see us refreshed and prepared to go again.

I think tiredness was used by our fans as an excuse for poor performances and a failing team set up. We only played one more game than the rest of our opponents in December (bar Celtic) who have far leaner squads than ours.
