  1. Sadly, with Derby County looking all but relegated, I see this move becoming more and more of a possibility, if not certainty. Malky
  2. Anyone have any idea how much Aston Villa got big Carew for?? When he's on form a big, burly guy like that is totally unplayable. Malky
  3. Well to throw the proverbial spanner in the works.....from what I've heard it was Martin Bain who was keen for Hutton to be sold. Having been approached by Spurs and been told what he was going to be offered Hutton went to Bain and asked for improved terms to his contract. Bain turned round and told Hutton in not so many words that he didn't feel that he deserved them. Walter wasn't happy about prospect of losing one of his star players but basically had his hands tied. And Calscott...take it cos its late that you thought it was Kanu Arsenal sold for £22 million. Was yet another grumpy Frenchy...Anelka they sold. Was probably best bit of business they ever did. Malky
  4. Well straight off i'm gonna say if Smith goes sticks with/goes back to Cousin then that is a MAJOR kick in the teeth to Kris Boyd. He's come in since Cousin was fannying about down in London trying to wankle his big move to the mighty Fulham, done whats been asked of him and scored goals and for what?? To get dropped for a guy who would rather be pulling on a different jersey?? As for Whittaker going to RB, to be honest he's surprised me how good he's been at LB. Maybe now is the time to get Lowing a run in the team. Hell was just over a year ago that Huttons arse was out at Ibrox when Le Guen had Bardsley in the team ahead of him. Personally i'd go for the 4-5-1 although more a 4-3-3 formation. ------------------McGregor--------------------- Lowing ---- Weir ------ Cuellar------Whittaker--- ------------------Hemdani---------------------- ----------Ferguson---------Buffel---------------- Burke--------------------------------Naismith--- --------------------Boyd------------------------ That team to me looks to have a nice combo of steel and flair and would have good few goals in it. Malky
  5. But in place of our top scorer who already is getting disillusioned at not being picked? How's he gonna feel being overlooked for a guy who says it's ok to be at Ibrox when he'd much rather be playing for Fulham?? Malky
  6. So if he plays instead of our top scorer for the past 2 seasons, and who would be top scorer if he played as often as Daniel 'i'm a gabon internationalist moaning cunt, get me outta here' Cousin, what then does that say to Kris Boyd?? Surely that would be more bad management, this time of the people variety, on the part of Walter Smith. The guy has wangled for a move since the moment he stepped into Ibrox. If it's true that FIFA have scuppered his escape plans then I agree, let him train and play with the reserves. He made it quite clear by HIS actions that he doesn't want to play for us, so why the hell should we play him when we have other players that want to and can do the job?? Malky
  7. Thing is, when you've got Real Madrid on your CV as a footballer, helps you get higher wages. Just ask Celtic and LA Galaxy as regards Gravesen and Beckham. Malky
  8. If Hutton REALLY wasn't interested in joining Spurs i'm sure a firm no from him would suffice and they'd go after one of the other targets they presumably have, although the young lad they brought on against Man Utd looked not to bad a right back. Therefore either Hutton ain't said no, or either he or the club are encouraging Spurs to keep coming back. And the supposed fee for him seems to keep going up and up. From people I know who know the guy, I think Hutton could be another Charlie Nicholas in regards a move to a top London club. Get the impression the big bright lights of London town could appeal to him to much and his football could suffer as a result. Malky
  9. Well lets just say that 'allegedly' McCoist caught him taking an alternative form of beechams powder....it being the cold season and all.
  10. Not something i'd like to divulge on a public forum m8.
  11. Nope, this is 'rumour' about Kris being a naughty boy and McCoist catching him.
  12. From what i've heard, Kris Boyd is likely to be away in January. Supposedly he and McCoist haven't spoken in weeks. Malky
  13. Well big Sebo is hardly banging them in in France either - http://www.frenchleague.com/ligue1/classementButeur.asp?affich=ALL Looking at it, he seems to have got a double as well. Doesn't seem to be seeing much action though. Malky
  14. Heres one to throw into the mix. Kris Boyd to Everton. You heard it here first Malky
  15. Noticed little bit in the Mail on Sunday that Gareth Southgate is keen to take Daniel Cousin to Middlesborough in a £1.5 million deal in January. Report claims it could be a done deal already, with Cousin being disillusioned at not getting a regular first team place. Hope it's not true, the big man has impressed me when asked to play the lone striker role. Malky
  16. Hi guys, Just wondering if anyone can help me. Remember a few years ago Rangers were selling 'bricks' of Ibrox...think was £20 or so? You then got your name engraved on it and was there for ever more. Do you know if they still do this scheme?? Is just that a good friend of mine has passed away this week and he was a massive bluenose. Was thinking a good memorial would be to have his name engraved into Ibrox. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Malky
  17. The primary fault is his reliance on his preferred 4-1-4-1 formation. Works ok in Europe where your expected to get a fair bit of pressure against you and are looking to counter attack, but in the SPL, come on Walter. In all due respect, teams like Hibs should be coming to Ibrox and AT MOST be looking for a draw. Over the last couple of seasons the fear factor seems to have disappeared from Ibrox and teams are coming knowing that if they have a go they have a chance of taking something from the game. Whereas Rangers should be looking to get at them from the off, taking the game to them and putting them on back foot. Looking at our squad compared to the other teams in the SPL i would say we had the best. Walter should be able to rotate, and surely the guys coming in should be raising their games to try and keep their places. Doesn't seem to be happening though. I mean Daniel Cousin was outstanding during the week, so why was he on the bench on Saturday??? As for Whittaker..I think he was brought to Ibrox mainly for the European games. Think that showed in the performance over in Lyon. Hutton bombs forward down the wing as the countering attacking full back and Whittaker drops in to cover the RB position. Makes you wonder if Walter would be better served playing Whittaker at RB for a spell and Hutton as right midfield. Malky
  18. Realise they are only on the bench due to u-21 rule and not on merit. However young Fleck is only 15/16 at the moment and have heard he could be the Scottish version of Wayne Rooney. Obviously highly rated if he's going with first team at that age as must be others in 19/20/21 bracket they could take. Malky
  19. Well in the next 3-5 seasons the likes of Ferguson/ McCulloch/ Cousin etc may not be playing such a big part purely due to the fact they'll all be in their early to mid 30's by then. Others such as Cuellar, Naismith, may have moved onto 'bigger' clubs in that period. Would be surprised if Cuellar is at Ibrox in 3-5 seasons and Killie obviously expect Naismith to move on at some point, having had a percentage of any future sale agreement put into his deal. Would expect young John Fleck to be a first team regular by then, is already a regular on the bench with Andrew Shinnie. Malky
  20. Have also just heard this and read it on net....5 mins to go...tick tock!!!! Malky
  21. And Kenny Miller is away to Derby County for £3 million quid. That's £1 million a goal last season!!! Malky
  22. Is a toughie. From what i've seen so far, Cousin looks as instinctive a striker as Boyd. Reckon he'll also get nod over Kris for the tough away games. That and the fact he's new to Scottish football so is a bit of an 'unknown quantity' makes me lean into giving him the edge. Malky
  23. Yet again another player leaves for nothing. Even £50,000 for him would have been something, the fee I believe Hearts were quoted for Stephen Hughes from Leicester City. And he'd been on the transfer list for a few months. Would love to know how much it's cost us over last couple of season to pay off the contracts of Capucho, Fan-Fan etc Malky
  24. And the thing is, if Man Utd and Chelsea are supposedly watching him you can guarentee the big teams in Spain are also keeping tabs on him. Malky
  25. According to Scotland Today, Naismith has withdrawn his transfer request. Malky
