I obviously disagree. The fans have put more money into the Club than anyone else and we are still on the outside looking in, without any say whatsoever in the way the club is run. I believe that the club showed be owned by the people who love it most and that's us. Don't confuse fan ownership with fans running the club. You employ the best people to do that, people with a proven track record. Fans would be elected to the Board based on what they have to offer. They could put themselves up for election and make a case for why they would be the best person. The fans would then vote for them, or not as the case may be. That's how a democracy works. wouldn't be voting for whether or not to sack the manager and things like that but the people representing us would know that if they weren't doing their jobs properly then they would be voted out. There will always be fans disagreeing and I think the fans who are speaking out are just ordinary fans. The one owner model may be successful in some ways but what happens if that persons circumstances change as he needs money, what happens when they die and their heirs have no interest in the Club. We are left vulnerable and open to being bought by charlatans and shysters and then we are back to square one. The only way to ensure the future of the club is for thefans to own it. All my opinion of course.

I completely disagree but we are going off topic again. Why not start a new thread and we can discuss?

One of the main problems is that we don't know who is behind some of the institutional investors and how they will vote. Rangers fans will vote for what they believe to be in the best interests of the club but other investors are more likely to vote for what is in their best interests.

Why is it damning? Chris is part of a group of fans who believe in fans representation and fan ownership. Why should that make him a target for abuse?

Would you mind taking 5,000 leaflets with you? Seriously, have a great time.

Jon Daly, Cammy Bell and Nicky Law - are you happy?
plgsarmy replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
I'm happy that we are doing the business now and not rushing in at the last minute in a panic. -
Where do I sign up?
-
Sorry, but I disagree. If you are Chairman of Rangers you should not be getting into that kind of state. There are no exceptions to this.

We have Bill and Leggo singing from very different hymnsheets and, like everything else, the truth will be somewhere in the middle. Nobody is emerging with any credit at all from all of this and it is the good name of our club that is being damaged here. Time for everyone concerned to get their act together but I doubt that will happen.

Until we get fan ownership where every single penny is put back into the Club and not lining the pockets of individuals we will always have a problem.

Bill McMurdo says: Imran And King Doing A Deal
plgsarmy replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Bill didn't get the info from Imran but what he says is accurate in terms of them talking or at least planning to. -
I agree with a lot of that except for the bit about Duff and Phelps, I think their role must be questioned and hopefully the ongoing investigations will clear that up.

Why Ally McCoist Must Step Down As Rangers Manager
plgsarmy replied to simplythebest's topic in Rangers Chat
This one is difficult to answer definitively. However, after much thought, I have to conclude that the answer is no for one simple reason: he cannot motivate his team. Gordon Smith tells a great story about Jock Wallace. After his success the press kept asking how he motivated his players. He refused to answer until one time he said 'At the beginning of each season I speak to all the players and discover the ones that need motivated. Then I get rid of the bastards.' -
Do you think King is a Murrayite? He was going to sue him at one point.

After all the money they made on that tour of Japan? -
Every bit as ethical as leaking information to the BBC and Daily Record.

Guy on FF also said he contacted Ewan Chester about this guy in 2008 but apparently we had better targets to sign. -
Radical Fiscal Changes required at Ibrox: Who's got the Stomach for it?
plgsarmy replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
Zappa, it sounds as if Gordon has a very good grasp of what is actually going on. -
The Founders Trail shown the red card by bigots
plgsarmy replied to Max Rebo's Big Blue Nose's topic in Rangers Chat
Given that Peter McNeil lived in Gibson Street, this is outrageous. I was fortunate enough to be involved in this project at the beginning and helped the guys on the Trails for the first two years. I also went on the trip to Rosneath a couple of weeks ago. These guys are true blues and don't have a bigoted bone in their bodies. They give up their time for no financial reward, simply to get our fantastic story out there and help raise money for worthy charities. 21st century Scotland indeed. -
Martin Bain poised to return as Rangers chief executive

Bain was but any new CEO doesn't have to be. -

Eh? I think it does. I think what Bluedell means is that the CEO does not have to be a director. -
£75 for a 10 person table isn't too bad Frankie!!!

Let's just hope that both sides can let the enquiry take place without running to their pals in the media with more 'stories'.
