This. Long balls into channels get defenders turning. Long balls to target men has low returns for me.

I would love for once to see SG totally go against type and go into games like yesterday with a different approach. What would happen if WE sat back and made Livingston come out more? Would it open up the play more for balls over the top and counter attacks? In turn stretching the play more. I understand the onus is on us to dominate and take it to them but what's the point of having 80% possession with nowt to show for it.

I started writing something along these lines earlier, but got sidetracked.

Their game plan didn't involve having the ball for much of the game, so yes good chance things could open up this way .

Wave after wave of attacking without too much creativity involved didn't work yesterday.

Do you know what shoehorned means? It would have to be irrelevant to the argument, or not support my point, to be shoehorned. My prediction was that he wouldn't get enough assists because of x,y,z. That has panned out exactly as I said. There are no stats that I could bring into the debate that would be more relevant.

Kent certainly wasn't the worst offender yesterday, I didn't say he was.

I know fine what it means, it means that you're making up stats to make Ryan Kent look bad, because you've never rated him ,and will go to any lengths to try and prove that .

You're utter dislike of him knows no bounds, you're like a stuck record ffs.

It is hardly “shoehorning” when it is on the exact topic I have spoken about with regards to Kent. If it was barely related it would be shoehorning. I said in his first season he just lacks end product, he lacks the vision and passing ability required to get the assists we need from our attacking midfielders. He has a tendency to run into crowded areas instead of hitting the byline. I was repeatedly berated and told “the assists will come”, (more in other places than on here).

The stat itself is shoehorned, in that you made that stat up to fit your own agenda.

I dare say if i could be bothered to look into it i could come up with a very positive stat about Kent from yesterday, he was certainly not the worst offender.

On that subject, not including goals he has scored himself, Rangers have scored 47 league goals since Kent's last league assist in February 19 vs Hamilton Accies, 28 games ago. He plays in our front 3 and we spent £7m on him to create goals. I said when we signed him that I would be bemoaning his lack of end product and here we are.

That's just a stat you've shoehorned in to fit your own agenda.

I know Gary - we played in the same youth team at Killie Boys Club - what was surprising to me was that Gary was maybe the 5th best player in the team, but the only one to make it pro.  The biggest difference between he and the rest of us was his desire to make it - he wasnt letting anything stand in his way.  Ruthless would be a word I would use.  His Livvy team plays with the same work ethos as Gary brought to the pitch himself - had a great engine on him even back then, played right midfield for us.

    Good lad is Gary

Gary sounds like a totally wonderful guy ,hopefully we lose tomorrow then ?.

We actually play another two games before they play.  We are also at home to Killie the following week whilst Celtic have the later game that day.  So everything going well we should be 11 clear by the time they next kick a competitive ball domestically

Ok i'm going to indulge myself here and presume that they lose that game to Dundee Utd, then the following Sat we could be 14pts clear, what with them not playing till Sunday.

  7. I'm not a betting man either ,but 3-0 and Hagi to score first at 400/1 ..mmm, just need to work my way round the (what looks to me) complicated workings of a betting site now.

If the wife finds out, you're getting the blame compo ?.

Not much cohesion of the front quartett. Kent was roving about, as was Hagi, while Aribo more often than not stayed in the middle. Utterly beyond me was Morelos in an equally pilgrimage mood ... maybe frustrated by the lack of support up front. Likewise, both Morelos and Kent have a "selfish streak", even when facing 2 or 3 players, rather than checking out attacking options.

Would have loved to see Stewart and/or the pacy Barker in the second half.

Barker did well in the pre season games when he came on, he was running at defences, and even having a crack at goal ,i think he's a player that suffers a bit from the weight of expectation from the support.

So ideal given the current situation.
