This piece from the Independent should be quoted in Saturday,s Match Programme.

Settle down boys. Surely the rumours are spread in order to make Celtic sign them. They usually take the bait.

Now that Mr. Kearney has chosen to highlight this evil song and bring it to the attention of the world, the Catholic Church in Scotland will probably be ridiculed throughout. I'm sure the Church has nothing else to occupy itself with at this time of year. And,as with the "Famine Song", and, if he is certain of this song's intentions (to ridicule Catholicism) has unearthed another piece of historical lunacy which is simply irrelevant on today's society. However it will now appeal to the knuckle draggers. Kearney has given those with sectarian agendas another tool to use against each other. So, Peter Kearney has managed to make the church he represents look stupid, enrage millions, stoke the flames of sectarianism, delight the press and given everyone else who doesn't give a damn about religion or Rangers and Celtic a right good laugh.

I used to work on the Stranraer/Belfast Ferry. 99% of Rangers and Celtic fans were great fun and full of banter ( and drink !!! ) During one November crossing, about half a dozen supporters demanded that the stewards take urgent action because there were people, families, wearing Poppies on board. It took an apology from the Skipper before they calmed down all due to the fact that they felt offended by such " sectarian regalia ". Some folks are easily offended especially when they have an agenda. A small percentage of people will always find offence where none is intended but it would not surprise me in the least if the Press were to set such things up. The phrase " never let the truth get in the way of a good story " springs to mind.

My opinion of the Press was formed after the Gazza " flute playing incident ". He acted in front of a few hundred supporters for a split second. The Media was full of it for weeks afterwards. It was beamed worldwide no doubt infuriating many thousands as the comments attached to the "slowmo" stated religious bigotry was alive and well in Glasgow, the West of Scotland and indeed the whole of Scotland. As everyone in football knows, Gazza was well known to be as " daft as a brush " and , I suspect, would probably be unaware of the connatations (?) of his actions. The Scottish Press, however, saw a great opportunity to enrage the populace by replaying the incident again and again and publishing photographs again. Therefore, who was responsible for displaying religious bigotry ? The Press or a daft Englishman who probably didn't know any better. The Press wish to have monoply on all information. They can also have it both ways. One day have one angle on a story, the next have the opposite. As long as it sells papers. Internet sites are very important especially as everyone has the right to an opinion in our democracy. Unfortunately, journalists such as Graham Speirs, use their priveleges to brainwash those unaware of the facts of the matter by spouting his own tainted thoughts as being factual. Of cource these "facts" are promoted further by likeminded individuals with the same agenda. ( sorry for going on but I got a bit carried away! )

The die was cast for Boydy during the recent Ulster friendly. When they were down to 10 men, we started to take advantage by putting extra men forward. As the game drew towards its conclusion, Boyd was the only man capable of sniffing out a goal. This was so obvious. Why was he not played ? Today Burley says Boyd is not considered good enough to be played regularly by the "most highly respected managers" in the game..WS. If this is the case then why did Burley have him in his squad and on the bench for this game and the Norway game. If the best Scottish goalscorer of recent times can't get a game and feels humiliated by being left on the bench for no apparent or logical reason what's left for him to do but stand aside and let a more prolific goalscorer take his place. Whether or not Boyd is considered lazy or not, his talents are what wins football matches even if it means the rest of the team trying 10% harder. Boyd is right in what he's done. Why Burley has done this is a complete mystery.

On another site they vented their ire on all other matters Rangers. Alleged attacks on all things c----c by unknown assailants, singing of Rangers' songs, and even verbally attacked Nacho for having his address published on a site well known for its bigotry.

Smith etc. will steady the Club and create new foundations on which to build a team for the future. It IS a backward step in terms of looking for European success but the Club has been in decline now for several years and we need to gather momentum domestically. I believe that PLG would have been a good appointment after a period of domestic domination and I also believe that Smith will provide this.

Taylor and his cronies should have been grateful for Walters contribution and accepted the compensation which was on offer. I hope the matter does go to court and it exposes them for what they are - a bunch of petty, talentless non-entities without a clue.

Welcome back---now get this mess sorted out.
-
It's got to be experienced players who can see out a season and a half in order to try and steady the ship. Andy Todd/Lucas Neil for starters or a similar pairing.

Brown and Thomson are today reported by Evening Times to be heading for the Tims' reserves along with other Hibs reject Derek Riordan. The paper also says Nigel Quashie is heading here.
-
What if the manager hasn't got a clue or is not interested ?
-
Fergie should be thanked for making a stand against the Frenchman and bring his incompetence out in to the open. The players obviously chose to back him.
-
Get a grip FFS Today's news is the best we've had all season, Wait and see !
-
There's much more to this than meets the eye and I think it was a face saving exercise for all concerned. Someone will spill the beans sooner or later.
-
More like a Bertie Vogts...or...... Maybe it's Jonathan Watson.

Le Guen doesn't want to stay. It's obvious that he wants to be sacked. Half way through the season and he's learned nothing about the Scottish Game. The man's judgment is severely flawed, just look at the players he's brought in, we're still playing with McLeish's duds and we're still way off the pace.
-
For PLG to say that no-one is bigger than the team is, coming from him, just a big fat lie. The Barry Ferguson fiasco is just another example of le Guen's enormous ego. Dropping Kris Boyd, Scotland's top goal scorer, for the good of the team -- WRONG !, playing Letizi when clearly unfit and incapable despite everyone's advice -- WRONG !, sacking Nando after a bit of high jinks -- WRONG ! and now dropping and sacking our captain and best player when we need to dig in for the second half of the season -- ABSOLUTELY WRONG ! None of these moves were for footballing reasons and they certainly weren't for the good of the team. Ask yourself this, who else but an ego-maniac would run through the Sahara Desert if you didn't need to. Wait and see, he'll be rowing the Atlantic next. PLG took on Rangers purely as a challenge, another Sahara if you like, and it's going tit's up big time. He's desperately looking for a way out as he can't face failure and we are going down with him unless we boot him out now.
-
What if your boss is a prat who is more concerned with his own standing than the good of the team ?
-
Ferguson should sit tight and say nothing until PLG goes......which will not for be too long.

Future SUN exclusive front page headlines. NEEL LEMMON'S BUDGIE SAYS " CHEEKY BHOY " FULL STORY ! My dad " reads " the Sun, or the 2 minutes silence as he calls it. He only gets it as it is cheap shoite as opposed to the dear shoite which is the Retard. Before I take it to him I usually flick through it to see what it says about the enema. The budgie story is typical of the stuff this rag runs with a different player highlighted every day. One day it's Pearson's horse or Boruc's " innocent " gesturing, another day it's Graveson's naked wife chasing a car thief. Occasionally it talks about football and usually it's someone saying how the Thims are going to win the champions' league. The " paper " now tries to put us in a negative light by printing stories by former players bad mouthing the Club. The point I'm making is that they have an agenda promoting the name of Septic in any shape or form making them a " global Brand " This imprints their name on everyone who sees the paper whether they are football fans or not making them think that there is only one team in Scotland worth mentioning. Do we have a PR department ? I'm not saying we should lower ourselves to this level but there must be many positive stories coming out of Ibrox which can be promoted keeping our name in the news. So, Mr. Murray, C'MON.

McNee claims the line "if we go to Dublin" is sectarian????
biggordy replied to a topic in Rangers Chat
And there's me thinking we would all be made welcome if we did go to Dublin. Just like Shota, Zurab and Gio last season when they played for there countries. Booed every time they touched the ball. -
Le Guen is doing to Boyd what McLeish did to Novo.
